A series of 3 parts showing the woman, child and dinosaur ending in the woman leaning into a car with the dinosaur climbing onto the roof of the car. 2. A variation of the woman in the first part of 1. above. 3. A very small illustration of the child. 5. A variation of the woman in the second part of 1. above. The illustration in 1. above, is similar to pages 10/11. NR 10 The woman's head in the first part of illustration 1 appears to have been smudged at some point. Preliminary Pencil 29.4 x 41.9 cm 20.8 x 29.7 cm 2 illustrations (1 large, 1 small) NR 11 of four zebras wearing coats 1-2 and jackets walking upright across a pedestrian crossing, a la the Beatles and Abbey Road. Similar to the illustration on pages 12/13. The larger illustration seems to have been affected by heat. NR Preliminary Pencil 20.7 x 29.6 cm 21.0 x 29.7 cm 20.6 x 29.6 cm 3 sketches of a lounge NR room with a panda on a lounge chair, an exhausted woman on a sofa, an elephant eating oranges, a goat with a pot plant on its back, a camel with a lampshade on its head and a large green dinosaur. Similar to the illustration on pages 28/29. Preliminary Pencil A x 42.0 cm This set of sketches consists of 3 illustrations on A4 paper and a large illustration on tracing paper of one of the three similar illustrations on pages 30/31 of a child and a dinosaur. Preliminary Pencil 21.1 x 29.5 cm 3 sketches of a dinosaur and a child sitting on a branch of a tree eating cheese. Similar to the illustration on page 32. NR NR Nina Rycroft, page 5 of 11

6 Preliminary Acrylic 33.1 x 33.0 cm An acrylic sketch of a blue dinosaur and a child in striped pyjamas sitting on a lounge chair eating cheese sandwiches. There is not a comparable illustration in the book. Preliminary Pencil Various This folder contains 16 sketches of variations for the cover design of the book. 6 of the sketches are on normal paper while 10 are on tracing paper. All feature a dinosaur and many a child and a Storyboard Print 40.1 x cm 13.3 x cm dinosaur. These are two expandable storyboards. The smaller one is not the same as the final version book whereas the larger storyboard is closer to the final product. NR 23 NR NR Good condition Good condition Unfortunately the sections of the storyboards are adhesive taped together which will probably deteriorate over time. Storyboard Print 42.1 x 29.7 cm This storyboard is a page of 15 printed copies of sketches some of which are recognisable in the book but obviously this was part of the early planning. 7 Proofs Print 29.7 x 42.0 cm 29.6 x 21.0 cm This group consists of 11 large and 4 small printed copies of black and white sketches and text that are very close to the final product. There are some slight variations in the illustrations. NR Cover Acrylic, print 30.7 x 30.4 cm This piece consists of a preliminary cover design (not used) covered in blue acrylic. Cover Print A x 26.1 cm This folder holds 4 x A4 sheets with 7 colour variations and 2 larger black and white cover designs. Only one (NR 28-1) is similar to the final cover. NR 28 NR x 25.4 cm This piece consists of 3 'fill-in' illustrations. 1. Two sandwiches that appear on page 3 (noted as page 2). 2. The word "Dino" that appears on the numberplate of the blue Volkswagen on page The words "The Big Cheese" that appears on the road sign on page x 67.1 cm 32.6 x 59.0 cm A light from open refrigerator shines on a dinosaur holding the word "Cheese". A boy in striped pyjamas sits on the dinosaur's tail. This the front and back covers of the book. NR 30 NR 31 The attached cover sheet has details of each illustration noted in.
