Sassoon offers a wide range of courses to meet a variety of experience levels and learning needs. Both short and long term courses are available for those passionate about hair, who want to learn new skills and ideas. At the beginners level, students are taught the classic Sassoon techniques and learn the fundamental dynamics of hair. During this stage, the Sassoon philosophy is explained using the abc concept as the foundation. abc consists of the three fundamental cutting techniques: lines, graduation and layering, and the three coloring counterparts: total, partial and combination. The classic level promotes the diligent practice of these touchstone techniques to control and craft hair, to understand how Shape & Balance works, to accentuate skin tone and to enhance the bone structure of the face. At the creative level, our students take the abc techniques in both cut and color and apply them in different ways to create their own individual cutting and coloring style. During this stage, the student s aesthetic development is accelerated into a more focused form of Hair Design. Once this level is reached, it s time to encourage the student to break the rules with that magical and essential ingredient - creativity. It s time to let them redefine their boundaries and innovate. We believe that the educational philosophy employed through our International Academies, not only gives our graduates incredible commercial skills, but also allows them to take away a piece of the culture that is Sassoon.
