2 Welcome Congratulations on qualifying for the U11 Girls National Hockey Finals There were ten U11 qualifying rounds across the country and the top 24 teams have qualified for the Nationals. To ensure consistency, IAPS has created the draws and timings for today s finals. IAPS has consulted England Hockey to ensure that all age groups are playing within the recommended playing guidance. U11 children should play no more than 90 minutes of hockey per day, whilst U12 and U13 children should play no more than 105 minutes per day. Please be mindful of this guidance and use your substitutes appropriately throughout the day. We have scheduled the tournament in such a way that children will get breaks between matches and then a lunch break. We are very grateful to Rugby School for hosting this event and especially to James Stedman and Debbie Skene for organising the finals. Without willing host venues and organisers, IAPS s extensive sports programme would not be possible. Whether this is your first time at an IAPS hockey finals or you have qualified before, we hope that your team enjoys the tournament. IAPS passionately believes in the importance of sport as part of an all-round education for its pupils. First and foremost, sport is about participation and enjoyment good luck! All matches will be 6 mins each way with a 1 minute half time and 2 minutes between each game. 4 IAPS Rules and Regulations SCORING RULES 3 points for a win 1 point for a draw 0 points for a loss All tournaments are 7-a-side. Squads of 10 players max. All IAPS hockey tournaments are conducted under the In2Hockey rules, including their ruling on gender splits within tournaments according to their most up-to-date regulations. The group order will be decided by the number of points scored by each team. In the event of a tie on points the following will decide final placings: A. Goal difference B. Goals scored C. Result between the two teams D. A series of 3 penalty strokes E. If still tied then sudden death penalty strokes In the event of a draw in the knock out stages, the winner will be decided by: A. A period of Golden Goal extra time of 5 minutes. B. A series of 3 penalty strokes by each team. C. If still tied then sudden death penalty strokes.

5 IAPS Tournament Information Car Parking: Please could schools drop their pupils at the Sports Centre where the pupils will be met and taken up to registration, mini buses will then be directed to designated area on site. Any visitors should use the public carparks in the town centre or there is some street parking on Horton Crescent. Changing facilities: Changing rooms will be assigned on the day with two teams per changing room. Please do not leave any valuables in the changing rooms. Toilets: Are available inside the Sports Centre for pupils, staff and visitors. Refreshments: Please bring a packed lunch for staff and pupils. Tea and coffee will be provided throughout the day for staff and parents. There will be a postmatch tea for staff, parents and pupils in the Sports Café during presentations. First Aid: There will be a first aider onsite. For any injury that requires further treatment a member of staff from the pupil s school must accompany them to hospital. Umpires: Will be provided by Rugby School.

6 Safeguarding IAPS believes that the welfare and wellbeing of all children (young people under the age of 18) at risk attending an IAPS event is of the highest concern. All such persons have the right to safety and protection and any suspicions, concerns or allegations of harm will be taken seriously and will be dealt with swiftly and appropriately. IAPS expects all adults who are engaged with the delivery of sports events to fully comply with safeguarding procedures as laid out in the IAPS Safeguarding policy and procedures, and the KCSiE September 2018 document (these are available on our website: sport. iaps.uk/safeguarding). IAPS expects all coaches present to be DBS checked and have received relevant safeguarding training at their school/club. IAPS expects that all adults attending events have read the IAPS code of conduct, photo policy & anti bullying policy.
