1 Playing Cards A Fast-Paced and Fun Way to Review Literacy and Math Ideas
2 Thank You Thank you very much for this purchase. Literacy and Math Ideas goal is to create fun, affordable, and enjoyable games and activities to make learning fun and accessible to students. Visit Literacy and Math Ideas store and blog. How to Play To play, make two piles of cards and place them face down on a table. Print the header cards on a different color paper to make them easier to locate while playing the game. One pile should only have the header cards. The second pile should have all of the playing cards. After all of the playing cards have been shuffled, each player should receive five cards. One player will turn over a header card and place it face up on the table. Each player will then take turns looking in their hands to see if they have cards that match what is stated on the header card. For example, the header card might say caption. Player one has two cards in her hands that have an arrow pointing to a caption. As a result, she can place both cards onto the table. Each of the other players takes a turn. After each player has searched his or her hand for cards that match the header card, a new header card should be placed onto the table. The first player to have an empty hand wins the game. Goal of the Game Students will want to know the text features of the cards in their hands. By matching the cards in their hands to the header card while playing, they are actually memorizing the different types of text features.
3 How to Assemble Printing Directions: Print the activity cards onto regular printer paper and laminate or print onto cardstock paper. If possible, print the header cards onto different color paper than the playing cards. Next, cut the cards along the dark outer lines. A black and white version of the box has also been included. How to Assemble Cut along the outer lines keeping the flattened box as one whole piece. Fold along the dark lines. There are four small tabs that have slashed lines. While holding the flat box correctly facing you, cut only the sides of the slashed lines to create tabs that can be folded into the box once assembly is complete.. Glue the side to connect the front and back of the box. Glue the bottom tabs and fold into the bottom of the box to keep it secure. Tuck the top of the box in once the cards have been placed inside.
