3 Company Presentation Our French company Quesack, founded in 2003, in the Ardeche region of France, has adopted an eco-design approach in its design and manufacturing processes to offer products of well-being respecting the principles of sustainable development. Cabinetmaker by trade, Thierry Lahay has created a range of essential oil diffusers, electric or candle, combining ecology and aesthetics, whilst implementing innovative technology in woodworking. Working jointly with artisan Yolande Munier a unique method of processing glass has been developed to finalize their conception. These diffusers are the result of research that aims to respond to ecological criteria, and also to appeal to an art of living for yourself and the environment. Thierry Lahay has also undertaken training and research in the field of perfumes to create compositions of essential oils, collected and macerated with perfumery techniques for a healthier and olfactory pleasure. To propose candle diffusers without offering an alternative to paraffin wax candles (of petrochemical origin and emitting benzene during combustion) does not make sense. That is why our candles are made of vegetable wax. They are also manufactured in our workshops. Our product range soon got wider and now features pillar candles, scented candles and powder candles. Finally, from wild juniper growing in the Ardeche region, Thierry also manufactures cade incense, an original 100% natural product. Thierry is a passionate creator. Committed to the design of original and eco-friendly products, he takes pleasure in organizing their production, and in developing the machinery used. Patents and designs have been filed with the INPI. These original and ecological products created by an atypical character in collaboration with Yolande Munier summarize the corporate identity of Quésack, a company that not only designs but manufactures in France while being competitive with imported goods. To minimize its carbon footprint the company focuses on sourcing its supplies in the workshop vicinity. As a photography enthusiast and always eager to learn, Thierry created his website, and also works on different communication media, essential tools for the survival and development of a production company.

4 What we make Essential oil diffusers : An environment-friendly concept - The materials used are mainly wood and glass; the wood is grown locally in our Rhône-Alpes region. The wood chips are fully recycled through a briquette press and used to heat our workshops.. - Homemade creations made entirely in France. - No electric transformer (source of electromagnetic pollution and waste of unused electricity). - A diffuser made to last over time, spare parts are available (made in France). - No electronic parts. Ease of maintenance Diffusing essential oils, especially citrus essential oils, causes a deposit which makes cleaning difficult and clogs some diffusers. Our diffusers feature simple and removable glass or stainless steel or gypsum rings, depending on the model, which allow easy cleaning or replacement. Cooling essential oils - Depending on the diffuser and the type of reservoir used, the temperature varies between 35 and 50 C. (+/- 5 C) to preserve the properties of essential oils. The temperature is obtained through a bulb or candle. - This process also offers a very pleasant restitution of essential oil fragrances. Absolutely silent - no engine or membrane, so no vibrations or risk of breakdown. A smooth process - Will not saturate the air in your home. - No spraying of essential oil around the device, which prevents soiling or damaging the environment on which the diffuser is set. Aesthetics - A beautiful object that provides a warm atmosphere. The two principles of diffusion of

5 Thierry Lahay has found his inspiration in nature using principles of eco-mimicry. These principles are based on the study of eco-systemic mechanisms to reproduce the conditions and benefits derived from environmentally efficient systems. He chose air convection and evaporation as a principle of diffusion of essential oils. By air convection: In order to be closer to what nature gives us, Quésack has chosen air convection. The principle is simple (see diagram): Hot air (3 and 4) driven by cold air (2) rises by natural buoyancy following Archimedean law The essential oil present in the tank or the ring (1) is propelled by the air (3 and 4).The heat is obtained by means of a 5W bulb (6). By evaporation: The essential oil is deposited in the reservoir (5). This diffusion technique is used to deodorize and / or perfume. The golden number When creating the diffusers, Thierry Lahay designed around the golden ratio, a rule of universal proportions for a perfect balance. In a golden rectangle appears a logarithmic spiral that is often found in shellfish, sunflower hearts or the arrangement of leaves on plants, and so on.

6 The candle, 100 % environment-friendly : Consisting only of natural materials (wood, glass, gypsum, vegetal wax). Diffusion is achieved by air convection. The warm air combined with cold air creates air movement through the openwork wood patterns. This hot air, produced by the heat of the candle, carries oils onto a gypsum ring placed around the candle and not above. The electrical : The diffusion is obtained either by evaporation or by air convection, depending on which reservoir is used : there are three different reservoirs to manage the intensity of diffusion. One of the three reservoirs can be used to cool massage oils. Indoor fragrances This is a fabulous journey into the realm of plants, their virtues and their scent, a door to physical and mental well-being. Aromachology: Studies have demonstrated scientifically the effects of olfactory stimuli not only on the activity of the brain and their involvement in our mental wellbeing but also to deal with memory disorders. Aromatherapy: The diffusers can be used for aromatherapy, a science relatively well-known to a wide audience, which improves physical well-being. To perfume: Today, people are also looking for a way to perfume and deodorize their home without using synthetic products.

7 The composition of essential oils offers better diffusion quality, for this reason we have created a range of 7 essential oil synergies. These are assembled using perfumery techniques. We have taken into account their virtues and also their densities to obtain carefully balanced notes of head, heart and base during the diffusion. Some essential oils with specific catalysing effects have also been incorporated for their excellent properties of maceration. They have obtained the Indoor Fragrance certification and official organic certification by Ecocert. Vegetal candles As candle wax is known to be harmful to our health (emanation of benzene during combustion), we propose an alternative through the manufacture of vegetal candles. Most vegetal candles that can be found in shops are usually made out of soy wax, a very oily material, which needs to be held in a disposable container. Our research is oriented around ethical and environmental criteria: -using local waxes (France and Europe) which are not derived from monoculture - avoiding the waste of disposable containers. We have achieved this technical prowess and we offer 3 types of candles that do not produce smoke, made from rapeseed wax, soy wax or bee wax. Scented candles Scented candles are divided into two perfume categories, "cleansing" and "soothing". They are certified 100% natural and organic. These are candle refills that need to be put into a container, thus, we design and manufacture a candleholder specifically meant for these candles.

8 Pillar candles These candles are perfectly odourless, they do not emit smoke. They burn as photophores. A pretty candle and a lovely light! Stardust, our powder candles Simple and fun, Star Dust is a powder candle that can be put in the container of your choice, provided that it can resist the heat produced by the candle. A new and attractive concept: you only have to insert the wick, pour the powder and light up! We also propose for this purpose a candlestick of our own design. We are in a transition period. For technical reasons, we are moving steadily towards production centred mainly on rapeseed. although we continue to manufacturing a type of palm wax candles (of RSPO origin) to meet the needs of our customers and to offer an alternative to paraffin candles. Cade incense This is manufactured from wild juniper, Juniperus oxycedrus, from our region. Juniper crops are grown in respect with our eco-system. Used since ancient times, juniper incense exudes a subtle and pleasant scent. The essential oil contained in the Cade incense has a sanitizing and deodorizing effect and repels insects, mosquitoes, food moths and other moths.... For optimal incense quality, juniper wood is stored a short amount of time so that contact with ambient air is limited along the different stages of the woodworking process. we offer a natural product without addition of glue, saltpetre other compounds, in response to consumer demand for 100% natural products. Our recycling efforts Aware that eco-friendliness starts with everyone s modest input, and that it is necessary to stop or at least curb the waste that any company can generate, - A briquette press compacts and recycles chips produced by our woodworking,

9 and enables us to heat autonomously our workshops and offices during the winter. - For our shipments we recycle cardboard boxes that we collect from neighbouring companies. - Small wood by-products are also used as a heating source. Where can you find Quésack products The development of the company was made possible by partenering with large retail food stores (Satoriz, La Vie Claire, Biocoop, Botanic) and many other independent wellbeing stores.
