LUXOTTICA GROUP CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY June 13, 2017
LUXOTTICA S VISION OF SUSTAINABILITY Luxottica: TO SEE THE BEAUTY OF LIFE In 2016 the Group defined its sustainability vision within the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Four pillars at the core of this sustainability approach Commitment to excellence Visual well-being Social equity Protecting environment A vision of environmental, social and economic sustainability that inspires Luxottica s business approach and is an integral part of the Group s strategy and value chain 2
LUXOTTICA S SUSTAINABILITY JOURNEY Identification of main stakeholders and their expectations Mapping of existing activities across businesses and geographies Involvement of the top management in defining the sustainability vision and pillars Key fact: sustainability in its wider meaning - environmental, social, economic - is a principle that has deep roots in the Luxottica story Sources of inspiration: the UN 2030 Agenda and the Paris Climate Change Conference (COP21) Definition of scope for KPIs measurements using the GRI-G4 framework starting from Italy manufacturing and, where available, including global data Use of storytelling as the way to convey compelling facts and figures across businesses and geographies 3
LUXOTTICA S SUSTAINABILITY VISION: TO SEE THE BEAUTY OF LIFE This is the vision of sustainability that inspires Luxottica s business approach and is an integral part of the Group s strategy. It stems from a notion of universal beauty that comes to life at the intersection of personal well-being, respect for the environment, ethics and the transparency of relations. Luxottica has always strived to make the best glasses possible - innovative design, exceptional quality and cutting-edge processing methods to enable people to enjoy the beauty of life in all its forms. The beauty of the world that surrounds us: to understand, protect and enhance The beauty of looking ahead and seeing a better future The beauty of sight, empowered by glasses, defining your style with creativity and awareness Luxottica s vision of sustainability is founded on four pillars that correspond to specific commitments, concrete actions and increasingly challenging goals for the Group. 4
COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE In its continuous quest for excellence, its ability to reinvent itself and innovate are part of the story of Luxottica and characteristic of the Group s business approach. This commitment can be seen everywhere and it shapes Luxottica s long-term goals and success. It is a reflection of the Group s untiring desire to keep evolving and improving while staying faithful to its principles. Topics: A Company opened to the world Governance Compliance & risk management 5
VISUAL WELL-BEING Luxottica promotes the well-being and health of the eyes through the excellence of its products and its world-class customer service in stores and online. High quality glasses and lenses, the result of continuous design, material and technology innovations, are complemented by the cuttingedge ophthalmic treatments available in the Group s over 4,200 optical retail stores around the world. Topics: Eye-care Innovation and quality culture Intellectual property and anti-counterfeiting 6
SOCIAL EQUITY Since the outset Luxottica has stood out for being a socially responsible company, ready to respond to changes and the emergence of new requirements with innovative solutions. This is a role it will play in an increasingly insightful manner to promote well-being and social equality in the countries where it operates, as well as the professional and personal growth, health and safety of its employees. Topics: Community People at Luxottica 7
PROTECTING ENVIRONMENT For Luxottica environmental sustainability is rooted in its bond with the communities where it operates, which it has protected and promoted since the construction of its first plant in Agordo among the Belluno Dolomites, now a National Park. Technological innovation and the ongoing investments aimed at improving activities and processes make the entire value chain increasingly sustainable in terms of water and energy consumption, CO2 emissions, and the production and recycling of waste. Topics: Production and logistics Responsible management of the supply chain 8
