3 Who are your parents? You are to obey your parents. Does Ephesians 6:5-8 apply to your relationship with your teacher? Does Ephesians 6:5-8 apply to your relationship with your pastor? Set Up: 1. Cut out the game board from the visual. 2. Gather buttons for students to use as game pieces. Make slips of paper with numbers 1 and 2 on them. What does God promise us for obeying our parents? Ephesians 6:2, 3 Who at church has a goal for you and has authority over you? Have you ever felt like a servant? 3. Make sure you have classroom Bibles for students who may not have one. Why should we obey our parents? How can you walk in the light at home? What does your conduct at school have to do with your relationship with God? The Bible tells you to work for your human leaders as if you were working for God Himself. How are you going to walk in the light this week? Play: 1. Determine which student goes first by ordering game pieces on the board oldest to youngest. 2. Player one chooses a slip of paper to determine how many spaces to move. What do you and servants have in common? Ephesians 6:5 Why are servants to obey their masters? Ephesians 6:8 Where does the light from Matthew 5:14-16 come from? What is necessary for you to have the light? 3. When the player lands on a space, have him read the words aloud. If it is a question, have students work together using their Bibles to answer the question. If a particular square is landed on more than once, you can decide to only discuss the square or to go deeper each time a student lands on the square. If a square gets skipped, go ahead and read the square and answer the question after the last player has passed that area. Who in your life is like a master? Ephesians 6:5 How are servants to obey their masters? Ephesians 6:6, 7 What is the light from Matthew 5:14-16? What do -8 and Matthew 5:14-16 have to do with each other? 4. 5 Before the Game: 1. Cut the spinner and instructions away from the game board. 2. Using a brad, assemble the spinner. 3. Cut apart teaching cards from Lesson 12 Learn Visual 2 and stack them. To Play: 1. Use buttons as game pieces. 2. The youngest person will go first. 3. Player 1 spins and moves his game piece to the corresponding color on the game board. He then reads the verse(s) indicated from Phillipians 3. I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:14 4.
