1 I am going to try to send a theological book to your mobile phones through Bluetooth Before I do that I want to tell you a little about this book. While I am doing that make sure you have some extra space on your phone. 1

2 If you do not have a mobile phone. Then you can get a copy of the book which has been printed here in Eldoret that we have available on the table. You can come up and get one if you do not have a cell phone. Please do not take one if you do have a cell phone, because there are only a limited number. If we run out of the printed versions of this book write your name on the list provided, and we will try to print another copy for you and get it to you soon. 2

3 For the rest of you that have mobile phones The books I want to send to you wont require much space. But if you have no space or very little extra space on your phone, now would be a good time to delete any pictures or music or games in order to make room for the files I will send to you. It will require at least 790 kb to receive the files for the Treasury of Scripture Knowledge 3

4 Later on I also have some bibles for mobile phones that you can send to your friends. And if you want one of those you will need an extra 511kb 4

5 So if you wanted to get both books you would need to make sure you have at least 1.3 Megabytes of free space on your phone So while I am talking, if you know that your phone does not have much free space, you can be looking for files to delete on your phone. In just a moment I will be asking you to turn on the Bluetooth on your mobile phones and we will try to send you the files, so now is the time to begin deleting files if you need to. 5

6 The Treasury of Scripture Knowledge is in my opinion the most important theological book other than the bible. If you know how to use this book, then you do not need commentaries, or Lexicons, or concordances. Because this book is all of those things and a lot more. You can become an expert on all areas of theology with this book and with the bible. Also because it is a cross reference, it is almost as if it is the bibles commentary on itself. And so the theology of this book is very pure. It does not include much of the wisdom of men But instead it uses the bible to explain the bible. A famous preacher who taught other pastors how to preach once said, If he could have only one book other than the bible to prepare sermons, and do in depth theological studies it would be the Treasury of Scripture Knowledge 6

7 Another good thing about the TSK is that it does not require translation. So a person in any tribe or language can understand it. I will show you what I mean later on. 6

8 Ok so the first thing we need to do is to turn Bluetooth and the visibility on on our phones. If your phone does not have Bluetooth you can see me after this session and I will try to see if there is another way to get the files on your phone. If you don t have Bluetooth but your phone does have a micro sd card slot 7

9 Which might look like this. Then we can still get it on your phone. But if your phone does not have Bluetooth or a micro sd card slot it is probably not possible for this to work for you But that s ok you can come get one of the print outs, or sign you name to the list so I can get one to you if we run out. 8

10 Some of you may know how to turn on Bluetooth on your phone, but for those of you who don t I will briefly explain. First go to a place in your phone that looks like one of these, usually it will be called the settings section. But each phone is different. when you find it, select it. 9

11 The next one is very different depending on your phone. On the phone on the left it is called connections, on the phone on the right it is called connectivity Your phone may call this something different, but you can get the idea. When you find it select it. 10

12 You should then see a section called Bluetooth Select it. 11

13 Make sure you switch your Bluetooth to on. If you have done this correctly there should be a symbol on your phone that looks like this, some phones may not have a symbol, but most of them will. 12

14 Just turning on your Bluetooth is not good enough You also must make sure your phone is visible to other Bluetooth devices. In order to do this you go to the same place. Settings, then Connectivity, then Bluetooth In the Bluetooth settings you should see something that says: Visibility or Discoverable There are many different ways that your phone will say this. But the idea is that it will ask you if you would like your phone to be seen by other Bluetooth devices, When you have found it make sure your turn it on. Some phones will only allow your phone to be visible for a few minutes. That s ok, but you may have to turn it back on if you have not received the file before 13

15 it goes off. 13

16 Once everyone is ready I will turn on my computer And it should try to send three files to everyone in this room wirelessly. It will connect to only about 7 phones at a time, and when it has finished giving them the files it will look for more phones. So it will take a few minutes for everyone here to receive the files I hope that many of you will receive all three files But I know that every phone is different and there are many reason that you may not receive the file. If you are not able to receive the files when I turn on my computer that is ok. It is probably something simple that is wrong. So during the conference in the next few days you can come over the table and I will be working on phones If the line is long you can wait until the next day, I will try to work on every phone 14

18 When my computer finds your phone It may ask you for a code. Not everyone will be asked for this. But if you asked to enter a code the code you should enter is

19 Then it will ask you if you would like to receive the files You can click yes or accept 16

20 When it is done it should say 3 files received. 17

21 Most phones automatically install the files You should then be able to find the files in your games folder. Some of you may need to find where the files are and then install them. 18

22 For example on this phone the files downloaded to a file in my phone called other files also it can be called downloaded files or received files Some of you may have to go look for where the files are to install them yourself. 19

23 After you find the files and click it, it may ask you where to install it. Always install it in your games folder. But for many of you the files will automatically be installed, and as soon as you receive the files you should find them in your games folder 20

24 Ok I am going to turn on the computer and it should start sending out files. 21

25 Ok I hope many of you have received the files. You will see that the three files are the New Testament divided up equally. The first file is Matthew John The second file is Acts - Gal The third file is Ephesians - Revelation I want to now show everyone how to use this very powerful theological reference book 22

26 If everyone could open the file that starts with Ephesians. If you have the paper print outs you can find the book of Ephesians. 23

27 For those of you that have this on your mobile phones it will look like this when you first open it up If you press any key you will go to the next screen. 24

28 When you get here to the main menu you just press to the right and it will bring you to the section with all the books and chapters 25

29 When you are at the book menu go to Ephesians chapter 1 and click on the right directional button and it will take you to the Treasury of Scripture Knowledge for Ephesians Chapter 1. 26

30 This is what it should like. A good example verse to use to understand what we are looking at is verse 14 So lets scroll down until we get to verse 14 27

31 You will know it is verse 14 because you will see the 14 on the left side of the screen It should look like this: So what are we looking at and how will this help us study the bible. This is a list of cross references for Ephesians 1 verse 14 28

32 The verse is divided into three parts The first part of the verse says Which is the earnest of our inheritance It gives 5 other places in scripture where we can find more information about this idea. Romans 8:15-17, and verse Corinthians 1:22 and 2 Corinthians 5:5, and Galatians 4:6 29

33 The next part of this verse is until the redemption of the purchased possession And it gives the a whole new set of references. 30

34 If you don t know what books these letters are referring to don t worry. It will be very easy for you to learn I have included something to help you understand this even if you do not speak English. 31

35 The key explains what all the references are in English and Swahili The first is what the references look like in the TSK, the second is what the reference is in English and the third is what it means in Swahili 32

36 I promise this will be very easy for you even if you cannot read any English The more time you spend studying the bible with this tool the more you will see how it will help you discover the deep and very precious things of the word of God. Ok so we see the first reference is CH that can be kind of confusing, because it is referring to Ephesians 4:30, because we are already in the book of Ephesians it only uses the abbreviated form for the word chapter. The rest should be easier for example we see Leviticus 25:24, Psalm 74: 2 and psalm 78:54 Jeremiah 32:7, 8; Luke 21:28. Acts 20:28 and so on. Again even if you don t know these in English, with the key this wont take you long to learn the references. Other than this little bit, there is no translation needed to understand this book. 33

37 The third part of this verse is unto the praise of his glory For this one is says to see verse 6 and 12 on this page So you can move up to the entry for verse 6 or verse 12 where the references can be found for this idea. The same idea was repeated earlier in this chapter so they chose not to repeat the same cross references again. 34

38 If you had any trouble with getting this on your phone you can come up to the table where I will be sitting at any point during the conference. It will take me about 5 or 10 minutes per phone so if there is a big line you might want to wait until there are less people 35

39 The next thing I will try to send to you is the Swahili New testament I also have an English Bible as well, if you want the English bible you can come and see me at the table later on. This bible is something you can send to your friends through Bluetooth, and it is also good to prepare sermons because you can do word searches and other studies with it. I will show you how to do that later. 36

40 Just like before make sure the Bluetooth on your phone is turned on 37

41 Also that your visibility is on, sometimes called discoverable 38

42 I will now try to send this file to you. If you do not want to receive this file you can turn off your phone or turn off the Bluetooth If you were unable to receive the other files it is unlikely that you will be able to receive this file. Remember if you have Bluetooth and you have enough space on your phone but for some reason you have not been able to receive these files, that s ok. There can be many reasons for that. Please see me at some point during the conference and I will see if I can help you get these files. Also if you have a micro sd slot. 39

43 Which looks like this. Then please come and see me because for you I can do something else. I can give you an audio bible, or mp3s in the language of your choice So you can listen to the bible in: Ekegusii, Gikuyu, Kalenjin, Kikamba, Swahili, Luo, or English So make sure to see me if you have a slot on your phone like this. You do not need to have the card, only the slot, I have some cards to give you if you have the slot. 40

44 if you received the file I just sent to you. I am not going to show you how to use it. Later on I will show you how to send this file to someone else's phone using your phone. 41

45 Some of you will need to go find the file and install it in the games folder just like you did with the other files. But some of your phones will automatically install the file in your games folder So take a few moments and find the file in your phone, check the games folder It should say kiswahili NT If you find it open it up. 42

46 This is what it looks like. You can easily find any book and any chapter in the bible very quickly using the controls As you play around with this you will learn very much about it. 43

47 Another good thing you can do is the do word searches. This can help in your sermon preparation For instance if you wanted to do a study on prayer. You can easily find all the instances of the word pray in the bible To do this you must first select options on the bottom left of the screen 44

48 Then you will see this screen. You can choose Tafuta which I assume means search in swahili 45

49 Then you can write in whatever word you want to search for. In this example we are doing a study on prayer so we write sala Then you can choose if you want to search the entire New Testament for sala or just the book of Matthew Once you have chosen you hit Tafuta 46

50 It will then list all the instances of this word. You can scroll down to see all of the references, and if you want to look more closely at any of them simply hit select. 47

51 Now we are going to learn how to send any of these files to another phone. Before I teach you how to do this I must prepare some of you for disappointment Because some phones do not allow for these types of files (which are game files) to be sent to other phones. Many Nokias do not allow for these types of files to be sent, although some nokias do. There is only one way to find out, and that is to try. 48

52 If you want to send something to another persons phone the first thing you must do it pair your phone with the other persons phone. You will find this option in your bluetooth options on your phone. So you would go to Settings, connectivity or connections, and then to Bluetooth. In this phone the correct option says search for new device This means that it will begin to look for phones that have their bluetooth and visibility on that are close to your phone. So you would tell your friend to turn on their bluetooth and make sure it is visible and then you would select this option. 49

53 It will search for and find any phones near you that have their Bluetooth on. Confirm that the phone is the same one that you want to connect to and select it. 50

54 Most phones will ask you to enter a passcode. You can enter anything you want. You can choose any numbers Just make sure to tell your friend what numbers you choose because their phone will ask them to enter the number in order to pair with your phone. So for example lets say you choose

55 Your friends phone will ask them a few questions. Like on the right it asks them if they want to accept pairing from your phone. Then it will ask them to enter the number that you made up They will enter the number and press ok or accept. 52

56 It may ask additional questions like do you want this device to connect automatically You can choose yes or no depending on your desire. 53

57 Once the device has been added or paired you are ready to try to send them a file. In order to send a file you must first find the file on your phone. 54

58 This part is different for every phone and it can be complicated. For some of you you may find the files in a folder called other files or received files If you have installed the file and it is in your games folder you may have to select it then select options then mark it and then send it. For some of you that had to install the files manually, you may not be able to send the files once they are installed into your games folder You may only be able to send them if they are not installed. You might be able to receive the files from me again and not install them so you can send them. I know this is complicated I wish it were a bit easier to understand. 55

59 But for those of you who have found the file on their phone and are able to send it, the rest is very easy. You simply highlight the selection, in this case the kiswahili NT and then hit options 56

60 The options for any file should include send If you have this option select it 57

61 Then it will ask you how you want to send it. Select Bluetooth. You can try the other options if you are unable to send it with Bluetooth. but for our purposes select Bluetooth. 58

62 Hopefully they will then receive a copy of the scriptures. I hope this offers the opportunity for people in your congregations to have their own copy of the scriptures in Swahili If your phone is able to send these files, you can send them as many times as you want, you have more than a million copies of the scripture in Swahili in your hand that you can give to people. Pastors, if your personal phone cannot send these files, but you would like your congregation to receive any of these files, ask one of your pastor friends here at the conference that does have this ability, to visit your church, and send the files to your congregation one phone at a time. After that you will have many people in your congregation that can do the same, and in this way we can get a copy of the scriptures to everyone who wants one for free. 59
