8 Alphabet Signs Day: The object of the game is to find a word on a street sign or on another vehicle that starts with the letter that you are currently on. The end goal is to get through the whole alphabet in alphabetical order. Everyone in the car starts at the letter A. As people see signs with the word that begins with A they move on to the next letter, B in this case. Only one person can claim a word on a sign at a time. Write down each of the words for the letters that you find on the street signs. The first person to get to the letter Z wins. Have people in the car give their answers for a particular person and then have that person respond FAMILY FEAST How many words can you make from the letters in the word above? 18 Riddle Me This! Take turns having each person in the car read a riddle (or make up one) for the rest of the vehicle occupants. Take turns trying to work together in figuring out what the solution is. The riddles below are in big letters and their solutions appear directly below the riddle in reverse. Odds & Evens One person is designated the odds player while the other is labeled evens. Players hold one hand out in front of them and count together to three (sometimes chanting Once, twice, thrice, SHOOT! or One, two, three, SHOOT! ). On three (or shoot ), both players hold out either one or two fingers. If the sum of fingers shown by both players is an even number (i.e. two or four) then the evens player wins; otherwise the odds player is the winner. Since there are two possible ways to add up to three, both players have an equal chance of winning. Use the scorecard below to keep track of the winner of each round. 23 Mad Lib Story (Part II) Thanksgiving Dinner Read the story, filling in the words that were entered on the previous page. Find the words that represent possible foods that you might eat for thanksgiving dinner this year. A Pilgrimage This story takes place _(NUMBER) years ago when a group of _ (ADJECTIVE) people in England wanted to _(VERB) and _(VERB) in their own way. The _(ADJECTIVE) king controlled the _(NOUN) of England, and everyone was _(VERB-ED) to go to the same type of _(NOUN). Anyone who dared to disobey would be sent to _(PLACE).
