Digital printing has been launched in the marketplace, supermatt and high-gloss surfaces are enjoying success, haptic experiences are playing a major role and innovations in the product range of self-adhesive foil Tecosmart complete the portfolio. The surface refiner Dakor presents abrasion-resistant solutions for flooring and furniture. Digital printing products have been completed Everybody is talking about digital printing we are producing, is how Dieter Baumanns, Managing Director of BauschLinnemann und Surteco Decor, summarizes the successes that have been achieved in digital printing. At BauschLinnemann, we manufacture narrow widths, edging and wrapping materials with digital printing on an industrial scale. Levels of gloss ranging from high gloss to supermatt can be created for wrapping foils and edgebandings. Duo Gloss surfaces with matt/gloss effects and even a surface with hardwearing class AC 3 are possible for wrapping foils and edgebandings. At Surteco Decor, we have now set up the first local Digital Colour Match Studio at our Italian location in Mestre and work at an integrated production. The portfolio comprises digitally printed surfaces for different applications and products.

2 Page 2 of 7 Symbiosis of haptic and visual effects The requirements for surfaces have increased. They are not only supposed to look good, they also need to feel good. Surteco Decor offers solutions with different surface technologies in all product areas. Finish foils primarily feature textures with synchronous decor designs which also provide a haptic reflection of the individual wood design. This creates a particularly realistic reproduction with examples such as the decor Anderson Pine and Ibsen Beech. New ultramatt surfaces are presented in the TECORELEASE product group (release papers and separating foils). Their Soft Touch makes them feel good and generates haptic value added. The end product combines the coating material with a symbiosis of ultramatt coupled with the property of anti-fingerprint effect. Graphic patterns mainly designed with single colours are also trending, such as the Eckolo release paper texture which generates a variable colour effect through the reflection of light. Another solution for surface design is offered by POLYTOP overlays. Surteco Decor presents the surface effects Ultramatt and high gloss at Interzum and they have been developed to market readiness. A microbial finish can be supplied for these versions. This finish is not based on the conventional solution with additives but acts against organisms like viruses or bacteria with alternating electrical voltages.

3 Page 3 of 7 Trending: single-colour surfaces The trend for designing furniture with single colours continues unabated. Surteco Decor is therefore augmenting its Colours range with new colours which are particularly popular, such as Silk Grey, Marsala and Curry. Additional effects are achieved by mica surfaces. This mica surface is an overlay and is supplied as a wrapping foil. Furthermore, the trend towards supermatt and soft surfaces is also adopted with single-colour foils. Dakor: hardwearing surfaces for flooring and furniture Surfaces are susceptible to micro-scratches which can occur in the refining process and with the end customer. The standard overlay from Dakor provides protection for the decorative layer. Microparticles in the supplementary top layer significantly enhance scratch resistance without impairing transparency. The overlay can be used for all wear-resistance classes and is also ideal for deep textures. Smart Pack is a complete package of overlay, decor and backing which was developed for use in flooring laminates. The classic laminate flooring demonstrates strong tensile effects in the higher usage classes which are generated by the high level of resin application and have to be compensated by correspondingly highly resinated balancing films. Smart Pack is chemically modified in the decor and overlay area so that the tensile effect of the resin is significantly reduced. The savings potential is therefore on the backing side. Balancing films are generally used with a paper weight of 90, 105 or 120 g and these can be replaced by 50 g papers with correspondingly reduced application of resin with equivalent balancing effect. This solution reduces the material ratio and the price benefit is passed onto customers.

4 Page 4 of 7 Tecosmart guarantees decor uniformity down to the last detail In 2014, Surteco Decor presented a new product group at EuroShop in Düsseldorf: Tecosmart, a self-adhesive foil with a paper-based decorative surface. The foil has been provided with special air-flow technology so that a surface can be applied without any bubble formation. The standard collection comprises 80 decors. Individual decor requirements can be realized using digital printing from sizes of 80 square metres. The surface options are virtually unlimited: lacquers are supplied in different gloss grades and finishes. Haptic solutions are produced in finish foil quality and textures create visual impact as well as being tangible to the touch. Since the beginning of 2015, Tecosmart has also been supplied to end users through e-commerce. The self-adhesive foil was also positioned in French building-materials and trade segments. It has also proved popular with many customers in the caravan industry. Tecosmart stamping parts, such as drill-hole covers or pre-cut repair kits are new arrivals in the product range. The Tecosmart product range therefore provides a seamless fit in the concept of One Stop Design Solutions offered by the Surteco Group: matching decor from the surface to the smallest detail.
