1 NOTICE TO All CLASS EXHIBITORS In Open Class there will be a $2.00 fee for each item entered, up to a total of $ All articles entered in the 2015 Fair must be completed between August 2014 and July 2015 in order to compete. NOTICE TO ALL QUILTERS -- QUILT JUDGING WILL BE WEDNESDAY JULY 29 th ONLY Due to noise and space limitations, it was decided to move Quilt judging to a different date. Please bear with us to make this a successful and enjoyable event. In fact, we are looking at this as an opportunity to make the Quilt judging an event of its own that won t compete with the other indoor projects. Our hope is that the community will take the time to watch and listen to the judges and ultimately create more interest for the craft. We ask that all attending be quiet and respectful of the judge s time and the information they will provide. Pre-entry forms will be on web site, at Nuts and Bolts and Quilters Above the Clouds Guild. Pre-entries due July 24 th. Late registration will be July 29 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. All entry fees must be paid to enter. Judging will start at 11:00 a.m. with a break at 1:00 p.m. for lunch and resume at 1:15 p.m. Judging should be completed by 4:00 p.m. latest. ALL OTHER OPEN CLASS EXHIBITS, THURSDAY JULY 30 TH Other entries for open class and professional class exhibition must be placed in departments between 9:00am and 11:30am THURSDAY, JULY 30th. No entries will be taken after this time. All indoor exhibits must be ready to be judged at 12:00 noon Thursday. The building will remain open during judging of open indoor exhibits. Persons wishing to be present during judging must remain quiet and not disturb judging in any way, or they will be asked to leave. First (blue), second (red), and third (white) place ribbons will be awarded in each class. A Grand and Reserve will be rewarded in each department with Best of Show given for excellence in each division at the judges discretion. Only one entry per person, per class and entries may be reclassified at judge s discretion. All open class departments will have an Adult, Youth (age 14 and under) class and Professional division. A High Point Home Economics Award will be awarded to an Open Class Exhibitor scored on number of exhibits and placing. Professional exhibitors are invited to show in all departments. Status is determined as being a source of income or having taught your skill of expertise. Professional will be limited to one item in each class with an entry fee of $5.00 per class and the money will be jackpotted. If you are a professional, you must enter as a Professional. Premiums are as follows: Grand Champion,. Reserve Champion. and First blue ribbon, if no Champions are awarded in that division. Open adult premiums are Grand Champion, Reserve Champion, First (blue), second (red), third (white) place are ribbons (only) and will be awarded in each class. Grand Champion and Reserve Champion will be awarded in each department. Open youth premiums are Grand Champion, Reserve Champion, First blue ribbon in departments where there is no Grand Champion or Reserve Champion. AGICULTURE - HORICULTURE Exhibits will be judged according to trueness of variety and type, uniformity, quality, and maturity. Greenhouse-grown items must be entered in the greenhouse class. A greenhouse can be defined as a protection from the elements. It may be constructed from glass, plastic or any other material to control the environment. 3 SPECIAL AWARD FOR FIRST TIME QUILT ENTRY FOR THE 2014 TELLER COUNTY FAIR Colorado Quilt Council will provide a special ribbon and $25 award to one quilt, chosen by the appropriate Colo. Quilt Council judge on the day of judging, whose maker has entered the Teller County Fair for the first time. The Quilts Above the Clouds will provide membership certificates (valued at $20.00 each) for the Best of Show in Amateur and Professional divisions. Wilton Best of Class awards are offered for winning cakes using some type of bag and tip or rolled fondant cake decorating. The Best of Class award will be awarded for the youth and adult division. Only one Best of Class award is available for each division. Best of Class winners may choose one of the following awards: 1) Brownie Fun (The newest Wilton publication) 2) Gifts from the Kitchen book 3) Cake Decorating Basics (DVD) Wilton will also award one current Wilton Yearbook of Cake Decorating for each 1st place prize winner in all cake decorating categories.
