Design of High Speed Small Craft 2. Hydrodynamics in Ship Design 3. Fundamentals of Naval Architecture 4. Fundamentals of Offshore Engineering 5. Structural Design of Marine Vehicles Graduate 1. Naval Architecture 2. Design of Marine Propulsion System 3. Dynamics of Marine Vehicles More than 65 undergraduate and graduate thesis supervised and completed 6 Masters and 2 PhD Thesis supervision in progress CONSULTANCY Consultancy Projects in Naval Architecture 1. Bulbous bow optimization of Trawler Hull form for Tenix Shipbuilding, Western Australia, 1998 In this project the client wanted to optimize the hull form with a bulbous bow so as to increase speed without change in engine power. The hull form was provided by Tenix and a CFD analysis was conducted by use of SHIPFLOW, a CFD package developed by SSPA at Chalmers University, Sweden. 2. Hydrodynamic Analysis of Replacement Patrol Boat (Dept. Of Defence, Royal Australian Navy), 2003 This project was contracted by Kellogg Brown & Root Private Limited, to undertake an independent review of the hydrodynamic analysis, namely resistance and propulsion characteristics of replacement patrol boat, already carried out by the tenderers. It was envisaged to provide an independent opinion regarding the resistance and propulsion characteristics of this patrol boat. 3. Investigation of Roll Motion in Beam Seas for Pivot Martime (Melbourne, Australia), 2005 The aim of this study was to determine the roll periods of various
7 types of vessels in a seaway which could be identified by any surveillance craft at high altitude just by noting the roll periods. 4. Ship Motion Study for Pivot Maritime (Melbourne, Australia), 2007 The scope of the study required was to determine the extent of pitching, yawing, rolling, and heave in an open water of a Handysize bulk carrier in deep water. The assessment is to include squat as a specific value in deep water and in a depth of metres. 5. Manoeuvring Study of Tankers for PIVOT Maritime (Melbourne, Australia), 2008 In this work it was required to perform theoretical analysis of a dwt tanker with regard to a) Turning Circle, b) Stopping Distance and c) Zig-Zag manoeuvre. 6. Resistance and Motion Prediction for SWATH Vessel for Navnautik, Singapore, 2011 In this project the client required powering performance and motion prediction in deep and shallow water conditions. 7. Resistance and Motion Prediction for High-Speed Indian Coast Guard Vessel for Pipavav Shipyard, India, 2012 In this project the client required powering performance and motion prediction in deep and water conditions in the speed range of 35 to 40 knots and sea state of 5. Consultancy Projects with Space Alliance Technology Outreach Program (SATOP) - Florida 1. Recommend process/equipment to produce fabric from recycled plastic. 2. Recommendations for Increasing the Shelf Life of Almond Flour bread. 3. Process for Reduction of Silica Content in Water. 4. Recommendations for Removal of Contaminants from A/C Condensate
8 STRENGTHS Statistical Data Analysis for development of regression equation for Calm Water Resistance and Motion Prediction of High Speed Round Bilge Hull Forms.
