1 Assessment Task 3: The Peasants Year Board Game See the information and instructions on Page 43 of your Medieval Realms textbook. Your task, with a group of 3, is to create a board game about a peasant s life. The aim of the game will be to survive a year as a peasant, so you will need to identify the four seasons on the game (one season per side) and the important working months for a peasant (see page 42). Certain squares of the game should be associated with the benefits and challenges associated with peasant life. You can find two examples on Page 43 in the Medieval Reals textbook. Autumn W S u m m e r Peasant s Spring Year! i n t e r Choose your criteria: A- Knowledge B- Concepts: Place and Space C- Skills: Technical Skills D- Organization and Presentation Ex: Lord insists you do two extra days of work for all of March. Go back two spaces! r Note! You will have to mark the board game of one of your peer groups; so make you are familiar with all Criteria before next week! You have now been marked on all four Criteria; for this task, choose the two criteria you would like to be marked on It is advisable to choose two of your lowest marked criteria in order to improve them before mid-term!

2 What you will have to do... Choose Two! Knowledge - Demonstrate knowledge of the life of a Medieval peasant by including important challenges and triumphs of a peasant s year in your board game. Concepts: Place and Space - Demonstrate that you understand the opportunities and limitations that peasants had in Medieval Europe by making space on your game which reflect the daily work life of such peasants. Skills: Technical Skills - Use pictures and 3-D features to make your board game more interesting and interactive. Organization and Presentation - Create an organized and attractive board game which accurately communicates information about the peasant s year.
