His research interests lie at the intersection between machine learning and neuroscience. He hopes to create systems which can solve complex vision tasks using attention and memory. Modal Alaoui, CEO & Co-Founder, Eyeris Tech Modar is an expert in AI-based vision software development. He is founder and CEO at Eyeris and developer of a Deep Learning-based emotion recognition software, EmoVu. Modar combines a decade of experience between Human Machine Interaction (HMI) and Audience Behavioral Measurement. Ilija Ilievski, Ph.D. Student, National University of Singapore Ilija is studying interdisciplinary research in the intersection of vision and language and his research focus is on Visual Question Answering. As a side project he created deeplearningtutorials.com, a place to share his experience developing deep learning methods for real-world problems Sravanthi Sinha, Full Stack Software Engineer, Holberton School Sravanthi is a Full Stack Software engineer and has worked on a project for the NASA Frontier Development Lab program which was hosted at SETI Institute. She is one of the 32 students worldwide to be part of the first class Holberton School having previously been an intern at National Resource for Network Biology. Mun Yew Chow, CEO & Founder, Asia Genomics Dr. Mun-Yew Wong worked in clinical medicine before he moved to investments in He holds a medical degree and Diploma in Dermatology from the National University of Singapore.

6 CONFIRMED SPEAKERS Vassilios Vonikakis, Research Scientist, Advanced Digital Science Centre Dr. Vassilios Vonikakis is a Research Scientist at the ADSC in Singapore, a joint research centre by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and A*STAR. His research interests include computer vision, affective computing, and image enhancement. Tikashi Miyazaki, Research Engineer, Yahoo Japan Takashi received the PhD in Computer Science from Keio University and then studied neuroscience at the National Institute for Physiological Sciences. He is currently working on vision and language problems using deep learning methods. Ettikan Karuppiah, Director, NVIDIA Ettikan is the Director of the Developers Ecosystem at Nvidia, assisting innovators, researchers and techno-entrepreneurs to accelerate GPU and Deep Learning adaptation for their R&D and software solutioning needs. Juris Puce, CTO, Kleintech Juris is an entrepreneur interested in all things technologically innovative and somewhat unknown. With over 15 years of experience in technology related business management, he currently divides his work between being a visionary for various start-ups as well as being the CTO of KleinTech. Vijay Chandrasekhar, Scientist, Institute of Infocomm Research Vijay Chandrasekhar completed his B.S and M.S. from Carnegie Mellon University, and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. His research interests include mobile audio and visual search, large-scale image and video retrieval, machine learning and data compression. Wang Wei, Ph.D. Student, National university of Singapore Wang s research interests includes distributed deep learning optimisation and feature learning for multi-modal data. He is a major committer of the Apache SINGA project for developing a general distributed deep learning library.

He received Bachelors and a Masters Degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology. He has a background in Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing. Geunhee Cho, Senior Software Engineer, NAVER Geunhee has over 10 years of successful experience in large scale data processing for data mining/modelling/searching/crawling. He is currently in charge of developing a new image search system in NAVER which utilises numerical vectorisation technique for visual analysis. Due Tin Vo, Ph.D. Student, Singapore University of Technology & Design Duy Tin Vo is currently a PhD candidate at SUTD under the supervision of Prof Yue Zhang. He received his undergraduate degree on Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. His research interests include NLP, machine learning and AI. Stéphane Lallée, CEO, MeeYoo Stephane is a software architect, a PhD in neuro-robotics and a young entrepreneur. He spent 7 years creating human robot interactive systems through regular software engineering and neural network approaches. Vipul Divyanshu, Head of R&D, Voonik Vipul Divyanshu heads R&D at Voonik Technologies, India's 2nd largest fashion marketplace. He previously co-founded Trialkart, a mobile virtual-trial and AI driven technology startup which was acquired by Voonik in the 6th month of its operation. Tom Semyanov, Data Science Team Lead, Travel Lisa Tom is currently a data science team lead at Travel Lisa. He uses Deep Convolutional Nets to classify user generated images of city objects with small training data samples and Recurrent Neural Nets for automatic image captioning with style change.

Cuauhtemoc Anda, Ph.D. Researcher, Future Cities Laboratory Temo is currently working on a Big Data-driven Agent-based Simulation platform for Transport Planning. Trained in the fields of Machine Learning and AI, his research interest relies in using methods derived from these disciplines to improve the liveability in cities with a special focus on urban transportation systems. Gopalakrishna Hegde, Research Associate, Nanyang Technological University Hegde is a research associate in the school of computer science and engineering at NTU. His research interest include machine learning, deep learning and heterogeneous embedded architectures. Vishal Harnal, Venture Partner, 500 Startups Vishal is a Partner at 500 Startups, a global venture capital firm where he scales the investments and operations across South-East Asia through the regional-focused Durians Fund. Prior to joining 500, Vishal practiced law at Drew & Napier. Haiyan Yin, Ph.D. Researcher, Nanyang Technological University Haiyan is aphd student and a research assistant at School of Computer Science and Engineering, Nanyang Technological University. Her current research centres around transfer learning for deep reinforcement learning. to solve tasks in an end-to-end manner. Tak Lo, Partner, Zeroth.AI Tak Lo is creating startup leaders in Asia. He is a Partner at Zeroth, an AIfocused early stage funding program. Yen Kheng Tan, Senior Manager, SUTD Yen Kheng is appointed as Senior Manager of the Office of Research and Industry Collaborations in the SUTD. Van Hai Do, Researcher, Advanced Digital Sciences Center Van Hai Do is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the ADSC in Singapore. Van Hai received his PhD degree from School of Computer Science and Engineering, Nanyang Technological University. His research interests include speech recognition and speech search. Adit Swarup, Principal, Rakuten Ventures Adit is responsible for Seed and Early Stage investments in start-ups across the IT sector. He has supported the fund's investments in the AI vertical which include ViSenze, an image recognition technology company, and Algorithmia, a marketplace for algorithms.
