Have you ever discussed the criteria regarding supplying to the grid with the grid operator or debated the sense of parts of the licensing procedure with the authorities? In our case this sector is clearly one of our outstanding strengths, as our first steps in the wind energy business were taken in turbine electrical systems. The story of REETEC started with the wiring of a 150 kw turbine. At the time that was a fascinating challenge how the size of the nacelle and the length of the rotor blades impressed us! In the meantime we are used to much greater things. Today our customers turbines achieve forty times as much and are much, much bigger. Looking back, we sometimes ask ourselves: Did those small turbines actually fit in the boot or did we have to hire a minibus? Nowadays the equipment and the wiring of the towers is a science in itself. We know our stuff and can handle it just as well as the electrical system in and around the park, whether it be substations (110 kv), grid connection, medium voltage networks (park wiring) or transformer and switch stations. But also commissioning and fault clearance are part of our range of services. Whereby you can, of course, besides services, obtain all required materials from us. Yes, even complete substations. Sometimes we too wonder what ever became of the story with our little 150 kw turbine.

8 Mechanical assembly Complicated made simple Naturally it is a little more complicated than, shall we say, Lego building blocks, but we know the pitfalls as we have erected and completed almost all turbine types; starting with our first 150 kw machine up to numerous 6 MW prototypes both onshore as well as offshore. However, we go far beyond simply erecting. In cooperation with our partners we offer everything from one source. This is how it works: You tell us where and when we may pick up your turbine components and where you want them erected. We deal with the rest. Transport, transport permits, cranes, etc. At the end of the day, all you have to do is press the button to start up the turbines. Sometimes complicated things can be so simple.

11 REETEC Partner in Energy 11 Service and maintenance Reliable As a pre-emption: We do not offer any works of art here, just plain fare. As a partner of the manufacturers we reliably undertake all regular service and maintenance work. Beside the direct components of the wind energy turbines, also for transformer and switch stations and for aviation obstruction markers (ideally for our own). Obviously you may also enquire about retrofit programmes or upgrades. Here too, we know the answers and find efficient solutions.

This is why we have included rotor blade service in our range of services: Starting with simple cleaning and surface protection,

As such, we have learnt how to handle and process artificial and fibre composite materials from scratch. As a rule, the rotor blades are not the focus of attention for the operators of wind turbines. On occasion one gets the impression that the wind turbine consists of just the tower and the nacelle. But believe us: With years of use, exposed to rain, frost and lightning strikes, the blades need care. Professional maintenance and repair work not only extends the life span of the blades, but also increases profitability incredibly. This is why we have included rotor blade service in our range of services: Starting with simple cleaning and surface protection, through assessment of the blades (cost effective using rope technique and HD camera system) to repairs and maintenance. And as it is our ambition to do everything we do with excellence, our rotor blade service is, of course, certified by Germanischer Lloyd.

But one thing we did not expect from offshore wind: to have to completely relearn that experiences onshore cannot easily be copied to offshore conditions. Fortunately, even we as country bumpkins (translation for the typical North German Landei quite seaworthy) still can learn a whole lot. Meanwhile REETEC started in 2003 in the offshore wind business we can claim with some pride to be one of the most experienced offshore specialists. And the benefit for you: utilising all of our experiences at a reasonable price. We do not mind where your project is located and what requirements we have to meet. Because we know (almost) all offshore wind turbines and we have worked in (almost) all European countries. And throughout all these different projects, we have figured one thing out: a united Europe still does not mean that working offshore wind induces in each country the same requirements. Nevertheless, we were still able to steadily expand our know-how and we go work offshore with a lot of passion typically REETEC.

And, as is to be expected from offspring, it s growing and flourishing fast appropriate for the continuously increasing demands of the industry with regard to safety, quality and innovation. Luckily, as it s all about the health of our staff both on land and at sea, after all. Each and every one of them is exposed to extreme demands to their physical and mental fitness. In collaboration with health & safety experts we have developed standardised safety training courses and up-to-date instruction classes on worker protection and occupational safety, all based on the market requirements. HSE sensitisations sharpens the technicians awareness and regular campaigns ensure that safety remains an ever-present concern beyond conclusion of the training. The same applies to technical matters: We train and qualify our and your staff to handle aviation obstruction markers, gearboxes, converters and tools, either in-house or at their place of work, tailor-made of course. However, in our well-equipped training centre it s about far more than just expert knowledge: the REETEC soft skill workshops also deal with ethical questions, teamwork and personality development.

We observe all national directives for aviation safety. Our aviation obstruction markers are LED-driven and are therefore low maintenance and long-lasting. You will find our aviation obstruction markers used by all manufacturers and on many turbine types.
