52 I4MS Digital Innovation Hubs Summer School - MTC 52 I4MS Use Case Template Description of the specific service to be provided, including specific tasks, deliverables and success metrics. This should include a high level project plan and costing, accordingly.

53 I4MS Digital Innovation Hubs Summer School - MTC 53 I4MS Use Case Template This section should include the type of funding that you think can realistically cover the project.

54 I4MS Digital Innovation Hubs Summer School - MTC 54 Funding Mechanisms Funding mechanisms depend on the type of the project, the maturity of the technology and the partners; As a rule of thumb consider: H2020: (TRL 3-4 start) for projects that are at lower TRLs, where a strategic priority for EU industry has been identified and you have the right partnership to help develop the capability National and regional government funding: where there is a sector match and a strategic priority for the nation or region. Different government agencies will fund projects at different maturity levels. Significant local funding is usually available for projects in line with SMEs. Industrial funding: (TRL 5-6 start) When you have a mature capability that you can offer readily to a customer for implementation. This requires the project to be strategic to the partner you are dealing with. Demonstrating significant ROI and short ROI periods is key in this case.

58 I4MS Digital Innovation Hubs Summer School - MTC 58 I4MS Use Case Template Provide metrics against the project objectives. Reflect on the potential implications of achieving your objectives, what other metrics will be improved as a result? Also consider potentially negative implications or aspects to be considered by the customer in advance.

62 I4MS Digital Innovation Hubs Summer School - MTC 62 I4MS Use Case Template Pointing out explicitly issues and challenges (risks) that may arise during the project to customers is key for two reasons: They are stakeholders of the risks and can add value to the risk planning process They need to understand the potential impact on the project scope and costing beforehand These risks should be considered when costing the project
