2 organza final conference How does it work? 10 years after richard florida Ten years ago Richard Florida presented his book about the rise of the creative class. Beside the question if there is an all appropriate patent solution following Florida s formula, we are actually at a turning point of the discussion. Can we ensure that future growth potential in the creative economy is successfully integrated into other industries, and used to underpin sustainable growth across all sectors? Co-working, crowd-funding or co-location are a few of the various buzzwords which represent a wealth of concepts for new forms of life and work in the creative sector. But creative industries not only help to overcome obstacles in the traditional patterns of communication and interaction but also encourage experimentation. The creative industries enormous potential for innovation can, therefore, apply to the entire economy. Throughout Europe the EU project Organza examined more than 70 different models of intervention in categories of: Incubation, Co-Location/Co Working, Funding, Coaching of Entrepreneurship, Urban Upgrading and Promotion/Interaction by which the creative economy is strengthened and promoted. The final Organza conference How does it work? 10 years after Richard Florida presents the results of the Organza project and adds to this knowledge a challenging vision of future developments. Where is the cultural and creative economy located 10 years after Richard Florida? Which conclusions can be drawn from the past years and what will the future look like? come and find out!

3 How does it work? The conference is the second event which takes place in Bremen under the question How does it work? for the creative industries. You will find information and a short movie about the previous event in 2011 at net/bremen2011. alte schnapsfabrik conference location The former liquor factory Jürgensen (Alte Schnapsfabrik) has been open to creative companies since July The whole site will be developed further as an interactive and collaborative place for creative entrepreneurs. An open space with café bar, co-working possibilities and mixed large and small offices will be established. The BREnnEREI next generation lab is also newly located at the Alte Schnapsfabrik. Amongst others, the Brennerei awards scholarships to young European designers who have graduated in product design, communication design or architecture.

Creativity meets Participants Brainstorm Session The results of the Exchanges and Impulses will be introduced in the Brainstorm Session in form of a World Café. The World Café is a creative process for facilitating collaborative dialogue and the sharing of knowledge and ideas to create a living network of conversation and action.
