Invention and Innovations - Design and build a passive sound barrier that will reduce the noise from an air pump or other noisy device. Systems Thinking - Analyze and create a concept map of a human made device. 15 Impacts and Issues - In groups of two or three, using plastic, cars, or cellphone students will research impacts and issues associated with one of these Data Acquisition and Analysis - Collect Data to determine the coefficient of restitution of a bouncing ball. Create and conduct a survey regarding trends in cell phone use. Trends and Consequences of Technology System Use and Development.- research to identify a trend in technology and develop a one page information sheet that describe the trend and analyze the potential positive and negative impacts. 15 Systems Interactions - Using the internet, Research, design, build, test a mouse trap power car, rubber band powered cars and compare the two to determine distance, velocity, and force using to Newton s Laws of Motion. Documentation will be in the form of a keynote using the eight step engineering design process. Design and build CO2 cars and compare to previously made vehicles.
