3 $45,000 in Student/Faculty & Travel Support IAM3D Challenge provides mechanical and multi-disciplinary undergraduate students around the world an opportunity to: Show their creativity and ingenuity by leveraging sound design principals and additive manufacturing technologies re-engineer existing products or create new designs that minimize energy consumption and/or improve energy efficiency demonstrate the value added to address a broad spectrum of industrial, manufacturing, and humanitarian challenges 3

5 ENTRY Open to ME and Multidisciplinary Engineering students worldwide Students may enter as individuals or as 2-3 person teams No limit on number of individuals or teams from a university INITIAL ROUND: Students upload: Introductory video of up to 3 minutes business case pdf file a zipped file containing an image of the current product design STL and CAD file 30 submissions selected and invited to compete in Montreal Winning submissions printed and shipped to Montreal at no cost to the students FINAL ROUND- IMECE- MONTREAL, CANADA 5 winners selected based on demonstration of the functional prototype, Oral presentation and Q&As 5

Consideration for (Energy savings, material cost, Manufacturability, assembly, sustainability)? alternatives evaluated with realistic constraints? Communication and Presentation 20% project objective clearly identified? sufficient background information provided to introduce the audience to the design? effectively convey the context the design? engage with spectators with sufficient knowledge, confidence and clarity? interaction and effectiveness of visual aids? 7
