2 Company A Questions: (Responses in Red) 1. Page 23 of 23 in the Steel Specification shows a list of equipment cut sheets that we don t have. Will these be provided? Yes. 2. Page 16 of 23 in the Steel Specification, Item 2A.6.1.1, calls for a vent/inspection opening at the base of the structure. Would a welded in section of A500 Grade B tube (example 5 x 5 x 3/8 wall x 3 deep) with a perforated and removable cover plate be acceptable? We would supply calculations showing structural adequacy for the reinforced port sections. Yes, as long as final appearance matches the poles. Make sure vent area meets specifications. 3. For the engineered structures, several of the T30# drawings call for a maximum structure deflection of 6 degrees under ultimate load case when also considering 2 degrees of foundation rotation. Does this also apply to the broken conductor load cases called for in Note 10? Yes. 4. For the engineered structures, Note 9 is somewhat vague. Please provide clarification. Note 9: All structures will be able to hold one set of conductors without the other attached This note applies to any structure that has a deadend. Note 9 should not have been included on drawing T310. Deadend structures are required to support the load without the other side of the deadend connected. 5. For the engineered structures, Note 10; Should all the wires be broken simultaneously (i.e. OPGW, 115kV, & distribution)? Please provide whichever is the worst case. 6. What is the location of the 12.47kV Neutral? Crossarm. 7. Drawing T312, Structure 26: Please verify that the loads indicated in the load tree are not to follow the L & T directions shown in the plan views. The loads for both the ahead and back spans appear to have been resolved to the line angle bisector. The longitudinal and transverse arrows on the plan view are only indicating the axis of the force (not the direction of the force). 8. Drawing T312, Structure 16: Same comment as above. Reference above response. Drawing T312 is for Structure 26. Drawing T308 is for Structure Drawing T304, Structure 13: Same comment as above for the tap line. Reference above response. Specifications Page 13 of 23; Item 2A.4.2 Baseplates: Will ASTM A572 Gr. 50 material be accepted for the baseplates? Yes. Contractor is responsible for confirming that strength requirements are still met and that base plate matches the rest of the pole. 10. Deflections: Will the horizontal deflection criteria for a Class A structure (i.e. switch support) be a limitation applied to the top of the structure, or only to the switch mounting elevation? The NEMA SG6 requirements apply to the length of the structure. Company B Questions: (Responses in Red) 1. OLFs for Load Cases 3,4, &5 are not listed. Assume 1.0 for all? Yes 2. Directional arrows in plan views for T and L loads are not consistent with the structure load tables. With the positive loads associated with an arrow in one direction and negative associated with loads of an arrow in the opposite indicate the loads are going in the same direction.. The longitudinal and transverse arrows on the plan view are only indicating the axis of the force (not the direction of the force).

3 We understand they should be opposite, but need to verify. Structure #3 (Drawing T303): 1. A typical drawing note states that manufacturer to furnish 18 vangs for deadend attachments. Below is a typical detail from the RUS Steel Pole bulletin 172-4e-204. Please provide drawings for any details that are not RUS typical. The RUS design for these vangs is acceptable however the vang must be 18-inches long to accommodate the transmission switch. 2. Shield detail shown in profile is in one direction only, please verify. Reference OPGW wire plan as shown OPGW continues in both directions. It appears the one side of the OPGW may be misunderstood as a dimension line. Structure #8 &9 (Drawing T305): For embeded structures, is steel mfg to provide embedment depths? If so, what class of soil is to be used? Yes, contractor is to determine embedment depths. The geotechnical report provides site specific design criterial for the soil (class of soil is used in absence of codes or tests). Contractor should confirm where each structure is located in relation to the design zones provided in the geotechnical report. 1. Initial tensions on the transmission conductor differ for ahead and back spans on this tangent structure, please verify loading. The ahead and back span tensions are different because they are clipped in and different span lengths. 2. Notes 9 &10, broken wire cases are not typically assigned to tangents structures. Are these for the distribution only? Yes.

4 Structure #13(Drawing T304): 1. Assembly for switch shows tap attaching to the switch. Switch cannot take a 30 degree angle. Need to attach to pole and jumper up to switch. The tap will connect to a vang below each switch. 2. Phase spacing not consistent with 115kV 3-Way switches (18 versus 10 ). Please see SEECO link below for typical spacing: The referenced link is for a one way switch. a Are tap loads orthogonal with the tap? Yes. Structure #16 (Drawing T308): 1. Transverse and longitudinal loads appear to be partially resolved already, but not entirely. Please verify loads. Verified these loads are the output from PLS-CADD. Structure #17 (Drawing T310): For embeded structures, is steel mfg to provide embedment depths? If so, what class of soil is to be used? Yes, contractor is to determine embedment depths. (no change in SW was shown on drawing for #16) Yes the static for this structure is 3/8 EHS.

5 Company C Questions: (Responses in Red) 1. Ahead and back span elevations are not clear in drawings. We will be applying worst load on top attachment for design. Reference T300 drawings for dimensions. 2. Plan view on drawing T304 shows load direction at an angle to axis. Do we need to resolve these loads on to axis and apply or the given loads are resolved? Same is the case with drawings T308 & T310. No the loads have not been resolve, The longitudinal and transvers force axes are as defined on the plan view details of these drawings.
