2 LEA_EN_INC Inclinometer Probe Servo Accelerometer Descrizione _ The inclinometer probe is used in geotechnical and structural monitoring for checking the movement of large land masses. The system consists of an inclinometer probe with a force balance inclinometer sensor, a cable reel with metered measuring cable of appropriate length, data storage and a readout unit. The inclinometer system is easy to use and designed to be fully suitable to all needs and requirements of the construction site. Measurement is immediate due to our INCLI2000 acquisition and processing software conveniently installed on a PC. Measurements can be checked in real-time, and displayed both graphically and in tabular form and the various systems can be customized and configured to facilitate measurements. The inclinometer probe with force balanced servo accelerometer sensor is still the best instrument for precision monitoring with inclinometer pipes of landslides, diaphragms, embankments etc.

4 Measurement principle _ The probe, an essential part of the inclinometer system, is made of a cylindrical body of suitable length (depends on the requested base) with two pairs of pivoting wheels on the base which is generally 500mm (1 meter on request). The wheels allow the probe body to maintain a position parallel to the inclinometer pipe and the inclinometer pipe, thanks to internal grooves for the two pairs of swinging guide wheels, also guarantees the maintenance of probe orientation. The two pairs of wheels and the internal grooves allow the probe body to remain parallel to the inclinometer pipe. The servo accelerometer sensor which detects the tilt of the probe body, is fixed inside the probe itself. As mentioned, the system is composed of three distinct elements: Inclinometer probe with mono or biaxial servo accelerometer sensors Portable unit for data acquisition and measures INCLI2000 software for acquisition and management/ processing of data. The inclinometer probe, can be uniaxial or biaxial, in the latter case allowing simultaneous reading of inclinations along two orthogonal components on the horizontal plane. To guarantee maximum accuracy, the probes are made with force-balance servo accelerometers sensors which provide great sensitivity and precision. The range is normally ± 14 or ± 30 (with respect to the vertical), probes with different ranges are available on request. The level to which the probe is lowered into the inclinometer column is shown directly on the special power cable/ signal transmission which has crimping graduations at 50cm intervals along its length, every 50cm, this value corresponding to the probe measurement basis. The portable acquisition and measurement unit, easy to use, even for inexperienced operators, includes an internal rechargeable battery, ensuring autonomy for several hours of continuous operation. The robust housing makes it ideal and safe to use on site, even in difficult conditions. The control unit is connected to a PC where INCLI 2000 software is installed for the management and visualization of data in real time. It also allows configuration and customization of the probe and the column to be monitored. The measures are presented on the PC in numerical form expressed in sen, or more generally K sena, or directly as a graph. The inclinometer column comes in three parts: Base element Intermediate element Output element The base element, for normal use, is comprised of a guide pipe, a bottom plug and a sleeve for the splice of the first intermediate element (and casing for the coupling of the first intermediate element?.check!!!) On request, the element can be drilled to allow piezometric measurements; in which case a filtering element (filter?) is provided on the windowed side. The intermediate elements are also formed by guide tubes 3m long and by a sleeve coupling. This element can be of a simple type for riveting or fixing with other specific devices. Where settlement of the ground is expected, we offer a version with slots, to allow the setting of the telescopic stroke and the support of the column itself. The output element (optional) consists of a tubular element with a head made of metal or ABS and a protective cover to be fitted onto the guide tube.

5 Measurement principle _ The head allows installation of guide devices for the probe cable, and also houses the connecting devices for the collimation system accessories. These allow the position of the head to be defined with collimator measurements and/ or topographical measurements. The inclinometer column can also be used for measuring settlement, using a special magnetic probe (with larger diameter). The column is equipped with special metal or magnetic rings, depending on the type of assestimetric probe in use. They may be with flange for installation during the construction of embankments, or of with spider magnets for installation in drill holes. Measurement with magnetic sensor is also by metered cable with steel core. The inclinometer system is equipped with our INCLI-2000 program, which combined with serialization units, allows measurement with an inclinometer probe. It also allows the programming of measurement campaigns, including the settings of general information for each campaign, as well as specific information for the inclinometer probe being used and the inclinometer column being checked. Once measurements have been acquired, a first validation of the data can be carried out by numerical or graphical comparison with previous measurements. The same software allows conversion of all measurements into graphs of deformations, linear charts and graphs of displacements for individual measuring points. channel A channel B
