4 SMH Timber to Masonry Joist Hangers SMH Single Piece Masonry Hanger: Designed for building into brickwork or blockwork. As standard all hangers are manufactured from 2.0mm thick pregalvanised steel to BS EN : 2009, S280+ G275 compliant with BS EN and to the requirements of BS5268. Return and straddle type hangers are available to order. Timber to Timber Joist Hangers MINI Joist Support: Ideal for trimming around ceiling hatches and other similar light duty applications. Suitable for timber depth up to 100mm. A190 Short Leg Hanger: Lightweight hanger manufactured from 0.9mm thick galvanised steel, for timber to timber application. 190mm leg length, suitable for 100 to 150mm timber depth. 4

5 A270 Standard Leg Hanger: A lightweight galvanised joist hanger providing a strong connection and quick and easy installation. Designed with wider 50mm strap legs to enhance performance with increased nail spacing. Suitable for joist depths of 150 to 250mm. Leg length can be adjusted by wrapping over to suit joist height. Also suitable for face fixing. B340 Medium Duty Joist Hanger: Manufactured from 1.2mm thick galvanised steel. Suitable for joist depths of up to 250mm. Design features a location tab on the hanger base, designed to allow quick and accurate alignment of the hanger. B460/B610 Long Leg Joist Hangers: Manufactured pre-galvanised steel, the B460 (1.2mm thick) and B610 (1.5mm thick) offer 460mm and 610mm long legs, suitable to be either face fixed or wrapped over supporting joists. For loft conversion applications where the hanger extends below the supporting beam, a maximum drop of 75mm is recommended. MTH Multi Truss Hangers: Manufactured from 1.5mm thick galvanised steel. Bolt hole to suit M12 fixing, nail holes 4mm diameter. Produced from galvanised steel to BS EN 10346: G275 as standard. Stainless steel hangers are available to order. MTS Mono Truss Shoe: Designed for use in a mono / short span / infill truss to girder connection in a low load situation. Manufactured from 0.9mm thick galvanised steel. GTS Girder Truss Shoe: Designed to provide a structural connection between a truss and a girder truss or beam. Features a location tab allowing easy accurate alignment of the hanger. 1.2mm thick, suitable for face fix or wrap-over fixing. 5

6 Angle Brackets AB Heavy Duty Angle Bracket: A versatile reinforced bracket, 2.5mm thick x 60mm wide, available in 4 sizes: 60x40, 90x90, 150x90 and150x150mm. ABL Heavy Duty Angle Bracket: Heavy duty 2.5mm thick brackets without reinforcing gusset for flush fit application. 60mm wide, available in 5 sizes: 50x50, 60x40, 90x90, 150x90 and 150x150mm. FCP Heavy Duty Flat Connector Plate: 60mm wide x 2.5mm thick versatile connector plates available in 100, 180, 240 and 300mm lengths. AAB Adjustable Angle Bracket: A range of 30mm wide adjustable brackets, available in 50 x55, 70x55, 100 x 55 and 120 x 55mm sizes. T and L Brackets: Heavy duty galvanised brackets used for connecting timbers to make a T or L shaped joint. HDA Holding Down Angle: 30x30x2.0mm thick galvanised angle, available in 100, 200, 300 and 500mm lengths. AP Angle Plate: A versatile range of 2.5mm thick galvanised brackets and plates, suitable for nail or screw fixing, used to strengthen timber joints. Available in 40x40x20, 40x40x40, 60x60x40, 60x60x60, 80x80x80mm sizes and as a flat connector 60x200mm long. NPAB Nail Plate Angle Bracket: A light duty 0.9mm thick perforated angle with reinforced nails holes. Available in 50x50x50, 75x75x75 and 100x100x100mm sizes. 6

7 AB40 Angle Bracket: Manufactured from heavy duty 3mm thick galvanised steel, these 40mm wide brackets are available in 45x45, 90x45, 90x90mm angle sizes and as a 40x175mm flat connector. CB Corner Bracket: Zinc plated light duty corner brackets for light duty application, available in a range of widths and sizes. BRA Light Duty Angle Braces: Available in 18x18x18mm and 25x25x28mm sizes. CSP Corner Stretcher Plate: Zinc plated light duty bracket with twin slotted face for easy adjustment. CPL Corner Plate: 1mm thick corner fixing plate 82x82mm. MP Mending Plates: A range of light duty mending plates in zinc plate finish. Available as a flat plate, or T and L plate format in various sizes. Restraint Straps CE Marked and tested to BS EN 845-1:2008. Designed in accordance with The Building Regulations, BS5268 Part 3 and other building standards for vertical and horizontal restraint. Heavy duty restraint straps: Suitable for horizontal restraint applications such as tying timber roofs and floors into masonry walls. Light duty restraint straps: Can be used for vertical restraint applications such as tying down timber wall plates. 7

8 Timber Fixings TC Truss Clip: Designed to provide an inexpensive and effective method of fixing trussed rafters to wallplates as recommended in BS 5268 : Part 3. Available in 38, 44, 47 and 50mm widths. FA3 Framing Anchor: Multi - purpose fixing that can be used for connecting roof timbers, joist trimmings, studding and general timber frame construction. Slotted design allows bending on site to suit all configurations. Manufactured from 1.2mm thick galvanised steel. NP Hand Nail Plate: A cost effective method of jointing structural timbers (such as site built trusses) simply by nailing through the pre -punched holes. Plates must be fixed on both sides of the timber. The pressed dimple design adds strength and rigidity to the component whilst also assisting in the location of nails. Available in a wide range of widths and lengths. GS Glide Shoe: A purpose made galvanised metal bracket specifically designed to allow raised tie or scissor trussed rafters to achieve designed deflection, both horizontally and vertically. SP Splice Plate: An economical on-site method of butt jointing timbers of similar section. Suitable for use when replacing rotten floor joist ends, replacement of fire damaged timbers and repairing localised structural timber damage. Must be fixed in sets of 4 per joint, minimum timber thickness 50mm. 8

9 HJS Herringbone Joist Strut: A superior alternative to timber strutting, Herringbone Struts offer a cost effective method of providing necessary lateral support to floor joists as required by the Building Regulations. Fix to the top and underside of joists using the pre-punched holes. PP Pallet Plate: A multi-purpose galvanised plate manufactured from 1mm steel, used to connect timbers without the use of nails. This product must not be used to fabricate roof trusses. SPA Sole Plate Anchor: Designed for use as anchorage of timber sole plate to concrete base, but may also be used as a frame tie for fixing timber window frames. MFS Multi-Fix Strapping: An inexpensive perforated strip which can easily be cut or bent to provide a quick and reliable solution for general fixing/repair work and many other DIY jobs. Manufactured from 0.9mm thick galvanised steel. Also available from stock in Stainless Steel. Available in 20, 25 and 50mm widths in various coil lengths. SPL Safe Plate: Secured to timber studding by use of prepunched spikes, to protect plumbing and electrical wiring against random nailing. DSTC/SSTC Timber Connectors: Single and double sided toothplate connectors designed to improve the performance of bolted connections. Available in 38, 50, 63 and 75mm diameter. SHER/ST Sherardised Square Twist Nails: 30x3.75mm, supplied in either bulk boxes of 25kg (approx 10,000 pcs) or polybags of 1.25kg (approx 500 pcs). SS/ARS Annular Ring Shank Nails: 50x3mm stainless steel nails supplied in boxes of 250 pcs or polybags of 100pcs. SPW Square Plate Washers: 50x50mm zinc plated with hole to suit M12 bolt. 9

EIC Insulation Clips: A universal retaining clip designed to hold insulation in position against the inner leaf of a cavity wall. FC Frame Cramps: Safety and fishtail end frame cramp with 50mm upstand and three fixing holes available in galvanised and stainless steel. PFT Timber Frame Wall Tie: Stainless steel brick to timber wall ties to suit 50 to 100mm cavity widths suitable for use in timber frame construction, supplied with nails. UWS Universal Wall Starter Kits: A fully adjustable sliding wall tie system, designed to suit masonry walls mm wide for extension and conversion applications. 10

BR Brickwork Reinforcement: Expanded metal available in galvanised and stainless steel in 63, 100, 175, 225 and 300mm widths x 20m coil. EML / RL Expanded Metal Lath & Rib Lath: Available in galvanised and stainless steel. SLR Bed Joint Ladder Reinforcement: Galvanised and stainless steel welded masonry ladder reinforcement for use in masonry walls, designed to help prevent cracking. Roofing & Miscellaneous ALS Aluminium Soaker Plates: Aluminium Roof Soakers, designed to protect against weather at the point where a roof meets a vertical face, such as a wall or chimney. WIBAL Wire Balloons: Galvanised wire cowl for protection against birds or leaves. Available in a full range of sizes to suit all common situations. SHI Hip Irons: Steel retaining bracket with decorative scroll design, used with traditional hipped roofs to prevent ridge tile movement. GWB Galvanised Weather Bar: 28 x 4mm edge coated weather bar supplied in any length to order. 11

12 Fence Post Anchors & Landscaping Accessories DPS Drive-In Fence Spikes: Heavy duty welded mild steel spike with powder coated finish, available to suit 50x50, 75x75 and 100x100mm fence posts. Choice of twin bolt arrangement to secure post or easygrip wedge grip system. PS1 Bolt Down Post Shoes: Twin bolt arrangement, available to suit 50x50, 75x75 and 100x100mm posts with standard square base plate (PS1) or flush fit rectangular base (FPS1). PS2 Concrete-In Shoe: Designed to be fixed into new Concrete the PS2 shoe is available to suit 75x75 and 100x100mm posts. RS Repair Spike: Used to repair broken fence posts, to suit 75x75 and 100x100posts. PEX Post Extender: A wedge grip connector that quickly and securely attaches to any 75x75 or 100x100mm post to attach a new section for example to add trellis panels. 12

15 Helical System The PowaTwist system consists of stainless steel PowaTwist bars and PowaTwist grout, providing superb axial strength and excellent bonding characteristics when reconnecting cracked masonry. PowaTwist Helical Bars Manufactured from grade 304 austenitic stainless steel to BS EN 845-1, PowaTwist bars are designed and manufactured to provide a superb combination of axial strength and flexibility. Minimises the likelihood of further cracking when used with PowaTwist Grout, and provides a permanent repair without the need to re-build. Available in 4.5, 6, 8 and 10mm diameter, in 1000, 1500 and 3000mm lengths. PowaTwist Grout A high performance, non-shrink, non-gassing, cement based grout, suitable for injection with an applicator gun and especially formulated for use with PowaTwist bars. PowaTwist Crack-Stitching Kit A two component system consisting of stainless steel PowaTwist bars, PowaTwist grout and applicator gun with all accessories. 15
