3 Model E Pneumatic Safe Cold Cutting & Beveling Compact Design, Easy Set-Up On Horizontal or Vertical Pipe Air Drive or Hydraulic Trav-L-Cutter The Wachs Trav-L-Cutter TM is a portable milling machine for severing and beveling all machinable pipe materials, wall thicknesses and sizes from 6 (ND150) and up. Secured to the pipe by special tensioning chain, the Trav-L-Cutter drives itself around the pipe as it mills. FAST AND ACCURATE Wachs special milling cutters remove 3/16 (4.8 mm) of metal while cutting, leaving the pipe ends with a smooth, machined finish. The flexible tensioning chain feed system accommodates out-of-round conditions while providing positive drive under field conditions. By using an optional guide track and special guide track wheels, accuracy of / 0.13 mm can be maintained even in zero visibility situations on all pipe sizes. This cutting method facilitates section removal in the field where new sections can be easily dropped into place. Low Clearance Split Frame (LCSF) E.H. 4 Heavy Duty Split Frame (HDSF) Small Diameter Split Frame (SDSF) E.H. Wachs Heavy Duty Split Frame (HDSF) series are the largest and toughest in the Wachs Split Frame family, and are designed to cut, bevel, single point, counterbore and face flanges on large diameter pipes from 24 to 84 inches O.D. (ND ). Named for its ability to be split for mounting to the O.D. of inline pipe, the HDSF series is constructed with a bigger cross section, larger gear sets and massive hardened steel components. BUILT FOR BIG JOBS The HDSF is ideal for big, tough jobs where tight radial or axial clearances are less critical. Like all Wachs Split Frames, the HDSF will produce precision lathe finishes using a safe cold cutting process, which minimizes the risk of explosion on gas and petrochemical lines and eliminates a heat affected zone. An O.D. mounting machine, the SDSF splits to fit over inline pipe and is also capable of performing socket weld removal and chipless wheel cutting.
