Cord cleats are an effective way to implement this essential precaution. Attach the cord cleats 153mm to 305mm apart at a height of at least 1600mm above may stand on a baby cot or other furniture in an attempt to reach the cords. Once the cleats are attached, simply wrap the excess cord around them after each use of the shade, as shown. It s fast, easy, and safe. 18 IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR YOU AND YOUR CUSTOMER STACKUP The stackup of a BEACH Blind will usually occupy between 250mm 350mm of the window. The stackups of blinds with different drops may be completely different, even if the blinds line up to each other. To reduce the stackup: Simply request the stackup you desire when you order. SETTLING OUT All BEACH Blinds settle out after installation. The fabric type, size, weight and environmental factors all affect the degree to which a blind settles out. Because the process of settling out is a little unpredictable, the final drop of the blind may vary by up to +/- 10mm. LIGHT AROUND THE SIDES All BEACH Blinds allow light to pass around the sides of the fabric (even when BLOCK OUT fabric is used). This is because a small operating clearance must be left around both sides of the blind. To reduce light around the sides: If practical make the blind wider than it needs to be (when face fitting) so that the blind covers more area around the window. Using a headrail with a smaller projection will also help to reduce the amount of light that sneaks around the sides of the blind. PUCKERING AND RIPPLES Puckering is completely normal and should be expected with all BEACH Blinds. It results partly from the tension that the fabric is placed under when batten pockets are stitched into the fabric, and partly from fabric shrinkage. LIGHT PINHOLES If you order a BEACH Blind made from a BLOCK OUT fabric, then pinholes of light will show through the blind wherever stitching occurs (batten pockets, side hems, base pocket). FACTORY TOLERANCE +/- 5mm is our standard manufacturing tolerance for widths and drops. We cannot accept claims for blinds made less than +/- 5mm outside the ordered make sizes. PATTERNS If you order a BEACH Blind made with a patterned fabric, please note that the grain of the pattern may not be perfectly horizontal or perfectly vertical. Blinds may exhibit up to a few centimetres of variation in the direction of the pattern from one side of the blind to the other. Sometimes the pattern may also give the impression that it is out of square at the points where the fabric rolls into the batten pockets. +/- 5MM VERTICAL JOINS If you order a blind with vertical joins, the blind will be split into 2 wings either side of the centre piece as shown in the illustration. 19 BEACH ROMAN SHADES - PRODUCT FEATURES STANDARD BEACH ROMAN SHADE OPERATING SYSTEM HEADRAIL PROJECTION BASE RAIL ACORN BEACH BATTENS SIDE HEMS ALTERNATE OPTIONS CHIAN OPERATION MOTORISATION HEADRAIL PROJECTION ACORN COMMON CORDING Side operated Cord lock and pulley. Cord operated Blinds have a projection of 30mm as standard. Blinds are fitted with a profile in a 50mm sewn pocket as standard. Standard Clear Lacquered. Sewn rear pockets with 6mm round timber battens inside. All fabrics (including polyester sheers) have 20mm stitched side hems (+/- 2mm) except PVC/Fiberglass screen fabrics as they are ultrasonically cut and sealed. Chain operated Blinds have a headrail projection of 40mm as standard. Choose from a selection of motorised options avaliable. Headboards available are 20mm (NB: without cordlock), 50mm, 60mm, 70mm, 90mm and 120mm MDF headboards. Please refer to variations & accessories for price per metre. Chrome, Brass and painted acorns are also available at an additional charge. It involves threading the cords of one blind through the headboard of its neighbouring blind. The neighbouring blind will then have two operating cords, one for itself, and one for the blind next to it. The two blinds can then be operated independently from the one location. NON OPERATIONAL BLINDS Non-operational Blinds are supplied without wheels, rings, or operating cords and are charged at 90% of the normal blind price. The application of an operating system to any non-operational blind will void warranty. SIZE LIMITATIONS OPERATING SYSTEM MINIMUM WIDTH MAXIMUM SIZES STANDARD CORD OPERATING SYSTEM 500mm 3030mm x 3000mm CHAIN LIFTING SYSTEM 500mm 3030mm x 3000mm MOTORISATION SYSTEM 800mm 3600mm x 4200mm IMPORTANT INFORMATION OVERSIZED BLINDS PANEL SPACINGS LINE UP STANDARDS Oversized blinds can become very heavy to lift, especially those made with Blockout fabrics. Motorised options are recommended for oversized blinds. Blinds panel spacings will vary according to drop. Please select one of the following options: Side by Side: we will line-up all blinds to the longest drop in the room with a +/-3mm tolerance. Surcharge applies. Please refer to pricing guide. Panel match: we will line-up all blinds to the longest drop in the room with a +/-10mm tolerance. No surcharge. Perfect blind: we will make the blind with spaces divided evenly from top to bottom, and a total number of panels being odd. No surcharge. N.B If nothing is selected the order will be placed on hold pending clarification Line up blind: the blind must line up to a perfect blind. The line up blind will have the same panel spacing as the perfect blind, but the bottom pocket will vary depending on the drop. REPLACES ISSUE DATE: JANUARY 2018 APPROVED BY: P.SEOUDI PAGE 19 of 23

21 FACE FIT (OUTSIDE MOUNT) USING STANDARD L BRACKETS The standard L installation brackets are used for face mounting. In all cases, level mounting is critical to the operation of the shade (use a carpenter s level). L brackets come in different sizes depending on the size of the headboard ordered. Attach the brackets with screws provided ensuring all brackets are in line and level. Position so the top of the bracket allows clearance about to sit the headboard at the ordered height. Headboards are usually 18mm thick. BRICK OR RENDERED SURFACES Warning: Ensure you drill no closer than 25mm from the edges of these surfaces as you may chip or break out the brick or render. PROTECTING YOUR CHILDREN Use cord cleats. Be aware that it is possible for children to strangle in window covering cords. To reduce the possibility of such an accident, all cords must be kept out of the reach of children, including infants. Cord cleats are an effective way to implement this essential precaution. Attach the cord cleats 153mm to 305mm apart at a height at least 1600mm from the floor. Take into account that a child may stand on a baby cot or other furniture in an attempt to reach the cords. Once the cleats are attached, simply wrap the excess cord around them after each use of the shade, as shown. It s fast, easy, and safe. 22 BEACH ROMAN SHADES: Raising and lowering of shade: Operation To raise, reach behind the shade and pull the lift cord towards the centre of the shade. To lock off in any position, simply move the cord to the outer edge to engage the cordlock. To lower, simply pull the cords towards the centre of the shade and gently lower. Beach Romans with cordlock operation are not suitable for reveal fit. Romans should be face fitted but if a reveal fit must be used, Beach and Inika must be ordered as chain drive or motorised. Care & Cleaning Roman Shades are durable but periodic cleaning is recommended to help keep the shade looking like new. Light dusting with a feather duster is all that is needed, or you may use a damp sponge to wipe off dirt. REPLACES ISSUE DATE: JANUARY 2018 APPROVED BY: P.SEOUDI PAGE 22 of 23
