Most timber blind Installations involve fitting a blind within a window recess this is called INSIDE or REVEAL FITTING. Other Installations involve fitting the blind to the wall or onto an architrave. This is called OUTSIDE or FACE FITTING. When measuring for timber blinds the measurements taken are the wood to wood sizes. Manufacturing will take off the clearance deduction. NOTE: Always measure from left to right. The standard factory deduction for REVEAL & FACE FITTING blind is 10mm off the width and 10mm off the drop. For alternative timber deductions are 10mm off width and 15mm off drop. If you require a blind manufactured at your given size write down finished size no deductions. INSIDE OR REVEAL FITTING Minimum reveal depth is 25mm. 76mm is required to fit blind & fascia flush. WIDTH OPENING WIDTH -10mm Measure the distance between the jambs at the top, middle and bottom and record the shortest measurement as the width. The factory deduct 10 mm for clearance. The fascia will be manufactured at that given size. If sill clips are to be fitted, the bottom rail will be cut down to suit. OPTIONS Rear fascia same size as front fascia Sill clips - Bottom rail is cut back to suit. If in doubt ask for them + bottom rail will be cut back. Cedar fascia - Maximum length 2700mm Alternative fascia - Maximum length 2700mm TIMB VEN 01

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS COUNTRYWOOD Cedar, Basswood and Alternative Timber MATERIAL AND TOOLS Each venetian blind ordered should include: 1 left hand and 1 right hand hinged cover mounting bracket Support bracket(s) if needed (up to 1200 = nil, = 1, = 2) 2 screws for each bracket 15 x 6# c/sunk) 1 pair hold down brackets and pins (if ordered) TOOLS REQUIRED Steel measuring tape Carpenters level Power or battery drill and bits Flat blade and phillips head screwdrivers MOUNTING THE The installation brackets may be reveal (inside the window frame) or face (outside the window frame) mounted, In all cases, level mounting is critical to the operation of the blind (use carpenter s level). Important: Please read these instructions thoroughly before installing REVEAL FIT (INSIDE MOUNT) Attach the two installation brackets inside the window frame, flush against each side and the top. Align their front edges. Pack down if necessary to ensure brackets allow level mounting of the headrail. Two screws (15mm x 6# c/sunk) are used to attach each bracket. For the most secure installation, one screw top, one screw at the side as indicated. TIMB VEN 14
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FACE FIT (OUTSIDE MOUNT) First, measure blind and mark on the face architrave where to attach the two installation brackets. NOTE: 5mm past each end of headrail. Attach the installation brackets to the wall or architrave using two screws (15mm x 6# c/sunk), 25mm x 6 Panhead for render fix (not supplied). Position screws diagonally as shown, once again not too close to edge of render to avoid breakaway. CEILING FIT As with face fix, mark hole to attach the two installation brackets, 5mm past the end of the headrail. With their front edges aligned, attach the brackets to the top of reveal or ceiling with 25mm x 6# Panhead (not supplied). CENTRE SUPPORT S Blinds over 1200mm wide must have 1. support bracket and blinds over 1830mm must have 2. Space the support brackets as evenly as possible, between the two end brackets. There should be no more than 1200mm between any two brackets. Important: Avoid positioning support brackets in line with the drums. Blinds over 2900mm in height and multiple blinds on one headrail over 2400mm require an additional support bracket positioned 200mm from cordlock end of the headrail. Use 2 screws to attach each support bracket, located diagonally wherever possible. Ensure brackets are aligned with end mounting brackets. INSTALLING THE BLIND Important: In the case of Timber Venetian Blinds attach the pelmet (valance) clips before installing the headrail,in reveal. TIMB VEN 15
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS HEADRAIL INSTALLATION Simply slip the headrail into the end brackets and snap the locking covers shut. after fitting the headrail, attach the pelmet. Note: If a centre support bracket has been installed, a 15mm x 6# c/sunk screw must be screwed through a hole in the bottom of bracket into the headbox. ATTACHING THE S If face fit, first attach returns by using the snap brackets provided, align the clips attached to the fascia with the clips on the headrail and snap together. With alternative timber the fascia clips slide into grooves to locate fascia returns. HOLD DOWN S (OPTIONAL) RETURN Hold down brackets are used to keep the bottom of the blind from swaying when mounted on doors or exposed to the wind. The hold down brackets are inside or outside mounted at the bottom of the window opening. With the blind fully lowered, place the hold down brackets on to the pins, on the end of the bottom rail and mark mounting hole locations. Attach hold down brackets with screws provided. With the bottom rail attached to the hold down brackets, the slats may be opened or closed. Disconnect the rail from the brackets to raise and lower the blind. TIMB VEN 16
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS ATTACHING REAR (OPTIONAL) After fitting brackets screw through the bracket (end boxes & centre bracket) into the rear fascia using (6mm x 4# Panhead) screws. The rear fascia is now in position. Fit blind then front fascia. OPERATION CORD TILT Pulling on one side of the single cords will tilt the slats in one direction, and pulling the other cord will tilt the slats in the opposite direction. RAISING AND LOWERING OF BLIND Whenever raising or lowering the blind, the slats should be in the open position. The cordlock has a locking device that holds the cords in place when they hang vertically down. To raise or lower the blind, pull the double cords towards the middle of the blind, out at about 45 o and slightly down. When the blind is at the desired height, return the cord to the side of the blind to re-engage the cordlock. CARE AND CLEANING 1. Dust can be easily brushed off at regular intervals using a clean soft cloth, a feather duster, or a vacuum cleaner with brush attachment. 2. To dust, tilt the slats up then down, (but not entirely closed), to reach the entire top and bottom surfaces.. 3. To vacuum, use the brush attachment and tilt slats as above. TIMB VEN 17
