4 GEOTECHNICAL CORE BIT GEO HAWK SERIES GEOTECHNICAL DIAMOND TOOLS Fordia s GEO HAWK series comprises core bits specially designed for use in the geotechnical industry. This core bit comes in four different matrices to fit any type of ground, whether it is soft or extremely hard. It also combines competitive prices and great efficiency for geotechnical purposes. The Brown Geo Hawk is a very hard bit made to drill through ground that comprises mostly soft and very abrasive types of rock. Medium hard and abrasive ground requires a Red Geo Hawk for efficient drilling because it has just the right hardness. Perfect for hard ground, the Orange Geo Hawk is a great medium hardness core bit that has all it needs to drill effectively through such rock types. The Yellow Geo Hawk is meant to drill through very hard ground that requires a soft bit to ensure the best drilling efficiency possible. GROUND ABRASIVENESS All corresponding core barrels and drill rods are also available for a complete drilling solution please refer to the appropriate sections in this catalogue. GROUND HARDNESS Geo Hawk geotechnical core bits have a 6mm diamond impregnation height, but Fordia also offers this core bit series in an 8mm diamond impregnation height; please contact your sales representative for more details. 8-9

5 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS PART NUMBER STRUCTURE CORE BITS A B C D A The first digit of the SKU always a letter identifies the type of diamond tool. The rest of this sequence, comprised of one or two digits, gives more details about the size of the product. B C D The second group of digits represents the matrix of the tool. The following part, composed of one or two digits, indicates the diamond impregnation height of the product, in millimetres. The final sequence can include up to six digits, depending of the tool s complexity. The last letter of the sequence always represents the waterways width and the very last number signifies the number of waterways on the tool if applicable. If the sequence comprises more than one letter and one number, these digits indicate special characteristics.
