3 What is Acrylic Infused Wood Flooring? Nydree Flooring products are designed to last. Acrylic infused is unlike any other wood flooring. Our product is real wood with the added strength of acrylic infusion throughout the top layer resulting in a product that is up to 300% more durable than standard wood flooring. Our proprietary technology allows our flooring to be used in some of the most prominent high-traffic projects in the world. Our engineered construction uses a multi-ply marine-grade Baltic birch, glued with marine-grade adhesive, topped with a 1/10 -thick acrylic infused wood wear layer. Acrylic infused wood is made from natural wood that is infused with acrylic resin for a stronger, tougher floor. We invented the process in 1963 and continue to perfect it. Wear layer is coated with a specially formulated Nydree Pedestrian Cured nydreeflooring.com 4 Urethane/Ceramic Oxide Finish featuring AC4 durability rating for extreme abrasion resistance (Modified EN13329) 2. UV-cured Finish is Benzophenone free. (This chemical is being removed from UV-cured finishes in Europe due to the emissions it causes in the cured film.) 3. 1/10 real wood wear layer infused with liquid acrylic. 4. Multi-ply marine-grade, exterior plywood substrate for superior water resistance and stability. 5. SideShield Waterproof Coating protects the side and edges of planks against moisture. Environmentally Responsible Our 1/10 thick wear layer uses 1/6 of the virgin wood per square foot of area compared to conventional 3/4 thick strip flooring. Our flooring is FSC and FloorScore Certified. Superior Hardness Nydree hardwoods are up to 300% harder than natural hardwood. Nydree hardwoods have up to 300% more indentation resistance than natural hardwood. Industry s Best Finish Our Pedestrian 2.0 Benzophenone free finish is rated at over 4,000 tabers for unmatched wear resistance. Independent tests show our finish surpasses all other wood flooring finishes when it comes to scratch and wear resistance. 4 The Nydree Manufacturing Process Container Vacuumed Kiln-dried hardwood veneer is loaded and sealed within a container. A vacuum is pulled on the container to remove the air entrapped within the wood s pore structure Filled/ Infused Liquid acrylic plastic (methyl methacrylate), which contains dyes, crosslinker and heat-activated catalyst, then fills the container. The container is pressurized, forcing the liquid acrylic into the pore structure of the wood. This is the infusion process. Depressurized & Drained The container is depressurized and the excess liquid is drained off to be recycled. Exposed to heat The container, filled with wood holding liquid acrylic within its pore structure, is exposed to heat. Hardened As a result of this exposure to heat, the catalyst is activated whereas the liquid acrylic has hardened to a solid plastic within the pore structure of the wood. There can be a wide degree of hardness within each plank of Walnut flooring. Recommended Installation Glue down over concrete or approved underlayment/subfloor. Commercial installations on any grade level, provided the moisture requirements of Nydree MRA1585 installation adhesive are followed. Engineered Construction Wear Layer: Acrylic Infused 1/10 -thick (2.54mm) Genuine Hardwood. All wear layers are sawn cut with the exception of Maple, which is rotary cut. Plywood Platform for Nydree Collection: 9mm (0.354 ) 7-ply Marine-Grade Baltic Birch (CARB P2 compliant). Wide Plank Series: 12mm (0.472 ) 9-ply Marine-Grade Baltic Birch (CARB P2 compliant) Laminating adhesive contains no formaldehyde. (Wear layer to plywood). Colors In addition to the natural colored wood, 7 infused colors are utilized. The infused color is throughout the entire wear layer with the exception of a few products that are both infused and surface stained. Custom colors are available upon request (contact customer service). Texture / Finish / Gloss Standard Pedestrian 2.0 UV-Cured Urethane w/ceramic particles. Low-gloss, matte finish provides excellent abrasion, scratch and stain resistance. Gloss level (60 o ) is 15. TXTURE products are wire-brushed to give a coarse, dimensional surface. Gloss level (60o) is 10. ASTM-D4060 Avg. Abrasion Resistance: Initial Wear Through: > 4000 cycles. EN13329:2009 Avg. Abrasion Resistance: AC4 rating ( 4,000 cycles).
