1 Placement is important to any acoustic treatment and should be determined before any installation occurs. Generally, you should mount panels across the diagonal of corners for broadband absorption, and at reflection points to the listening position for early reflection control. When mounting in critical listening environments [studio control rooms, mixing suites, and home theaters], strive to maintain left to right symmetry with all your panel placements this will sharpen the stereo image. Accordingly, for most applications, try to locate significant treatment in all of room s corners. The smaller your room, then the more corner treatment is desired, but even medium sized rooms [less then +/- 7,000 cubic feet] typically benefit from the full treatment of all vertical corners, and corner mounting is as a general rule an excellent start to an installation plan whenever practical. When mounting panels in corners, and full treatment of a corner is not practical, then best practice is to at least cover as many tri-corners as possible [where ceiling or floor meets two walls tri-corners are typically the most acoustically efficient locations in the room for low frequency absorption]. Corner Mounting Upholstered Panels / Ready Bags: (see below for how to mount steel framed Chameleon panels) 1 Best practice for vertical corner mounting of upholstered Ready Traps such as the RT422, RT424 and the RT426 is to use a Ready Acoustics NEST Corner Mount [RANCM]. 2 2 A simple alternative to the use of the RANCM is to install the provided hook in the apex of the corner. The height you install the hook, and which of the integral hanger straps you use, will determine the height the panel hangs. 3 Another way to corner mount an upholstered Ready Trap is to install a screw hook about 12 below where you want the top of the panel to hang and then thread either a heavy duty nylon zip tie or a short bungee cord through the middle strap and then around the hook. Adjust the panel so it hangs square and the back edges of the panel touch the walls.

3 4 When mounting in a floor/wall corner, standard practice is simply lean the panel against the wall. 5 For ceiling wall mounting, install two hooks in the ceiling each 6-1/2 inches (165 mm) from the wall, with 38 inches [975 mm] between hooks. The edges of the panel will end up extending about five inches past each hook. Adjust the panel so it hangs square and one of the back edges of the panel touches the wall, and the other the ceiling.

5 DO NOT USE BAG STRAPS FOR HANGING A STEEL FRAMED PANEL IN INSTANCES WHERE THE HANGER IS INTENDED TO SUPPORT THE FULL WEIGHT OF THE PANEL INSTEAD THREAD YOUR HANGER THROUGH THE KEYHOLES IN THE STEEL FRAME. Adjust the panel so it hangs square and the back edges of the panel touch the walls. 4 Corner mounting a pair of steel framed Ready Traps in vertical wall/wall corners can be facilitated by stacking panels. Install a screw hook in the apex of the corner 1 below where you wish the top of the panel to mount, then place the first panel on the floor in the corner. Tie the keyholes on the backside of the steel frame to the screw hook using a heavy duty nylon cable tie [zip tie] and/or a short elastic strap [bungee cord]. Then stack a second panel on the lower panel and similarly attach the keyholes in the steel frame to the screw hook.
