There are quite a few benefits to rocking on wood. Wooden furniture is green because trees reproduce, it s strong because it s fibrous and versatile because it can be repainted to match your changing décor. Our rockers are built with 100% Hardwood Ash. We also use the age-old technique of interlocking joinery on all of our adult rockers. This joinery method will help keep them sturdy and tight for many years. (See photo of joinery below) We use premium-quality, waterproof Gorilla Glue and Titebond III in the joints of our rockers. We also exclusively use stainless-steel brad nails and screws in our assembly process. We don t only use care in our construction, but also carefully spray these rockers with a premium, exterior, water-based paint. After the first coat of paint is dry, we carefully sand each piece by hand. After that we spray a second coat of paint on top to give you a glossy surface that will get smoother with use. Even though we coat our furniture with a high quality coat of paint, all of our wooden furniture must still be kept in a sheltered place, away from moisture and the harsh elements. Constant moisture will most definitely shorten the lifespan of this wooden furniture. We recommend regularly wiping off any accumulation of grime with a soft cloth, dampened with soapy water. With proper care, these painted rockers will last for years.

By doing this, we can nest the parts in order to minimize scrap, keep parts consistent, and offer smoothly cut edges. We use mortise and tenon joinery, along with heavy-duty stainless steel screws, to make these rockers and gliders sturdy. To give more structural strength to some of our more complex products, we reinforce them with laser-cut, stainlesssteel parts. We ve tried to keep these reinforcements as out-of-sight as possible, without compromising strength. an The poly lumber we use is some of the best in the industry. It has smoother surfaces and fewer imperfections when compared with competing lumber. Most of the 19 colors that we offer, contain a percentage of recycled milk jugs. The white lumber is virgin material and the black contains approximately 97% recycled content. If you are interested in a recycled product, the darker colors are better since they contain a higher percentage of recycled material. Mortise Poly furniture today often doesn t have a very complex design. There are a few limiting factors, like structural strength, that make it more difficult to make aesthetically pleasing furniture. We are trying to overcome that difficulty so that we can offer you an American-made product that we feel will satisfy your search for style, comfort, and durability.
