Position the tree house (focal area) in the corner of the room that is most visible from the doorway. 2. Hang sky blue or leaf print king-size flat sheets from the ceiling for quick and easy wall coverings. Overlap the sheets slightly to completely cover the corner. Tip: Use large binder clips on each corner to clip the sheets to the metal tracks of a drop ceiling. Clip the sheets together from behind with clothespins to prevent gaping. 3. Cut green fabric, paper, or sheets to hang from the ceiling like an expanse of leaves. Be sure to leave at least one straight edge on the fabric so that it can hang flush with the ceiling. For track ceilings, use magnetic circles to attach the fabric to the metal tracks that run in between the acoustical tiles. 4. Spread a large piece of grass-like carpet on the floor for ground cover. (Substitute green or brown paper, sheets, blankets, or rugs for low cost alternatives.) Place pillows (or other small items) under the grass to create an uneven, more natural ground covering. Include stepping stones (see p. 18) if desired. 1. Fan-fold tan king-size sheets that have been washed and dried. Paint a random, streaked pattern with brown or burnt orange spray paint. The folds in the fabric will allow some of the natural color to remain. Open the sheet and allow it to dry slightly, then refold to expose unpainted areas. Repeat the process with the darker brown spray paint, then with the green spray paint. 2. Open up the sheets to completely dry.
