5 In a context of high-growth, companies in the aeronautics sector are faced with a large number of challenges: securing of production ramp-ups, integration of new technologies, maintenance performance, digitalization of services and processes, etc. THE CHALLENGE OF RAMPING UP In the aerospace sector, we are nearing completion in the design of major programmes. With an average annual increase of 3.8% in air traffic until 2034, the aeronautics sector is reorganising itself to improve its profitability and production capacities. The challenge is to master the delivery deadlines of clients, since an airline company has to wait ten years on average before being delivered. Aircraft manufacturers are transforming their production tool and logistics chain by integrating new technologies: robots, augmented reality, big data, 3D printing, etc. The current challenges are to secure the transition to mass production and increased output. This includes the essential maintenance of product quality, combined with the performance of these programmes, both in terms of cost control and industrial effectiveness. The issue for ALTEN: For ALTEN, the aim is to be at the forefront of aircraft manufacturers production ramp-up, with the start-up of new projects in manufacturing engineering, and to support the growth of supplier partners. The keys to success currently reside in controlling the extended Company (the supply chain), industrial maturity, logistical efficiency and economic relevance. THE DIGITAL REVOLUTION, A NEW PERFORMANCE DRIVER We must successfully integrate the new technologies of the digital revolution into existing industrial models, without a gadget effect, but with a practical and relevant approach in our choice of options, focusing on performance, industrial optimisation, and the comfort of production teams. The issue for ALTEN: ALTEN has decided to make significant investments in these solutions in order to create models offering a sufficient return on investment. Our role is now to identify and approve solutions that break with our current industrial solutions. Another major area of development: the optimisation of end-to-end solutions (from design through to delivery). In this respect, ALTEN s overall positioning on the V model enables it to be proactive and to bring real added value to its clients. THE DYNAMISM OF THE SPACE SECTOR SECTOR In the space sector, competition between the United States and Europe fosters innovation and investment. Ariane 5 has confirmed its leadership position in terms of reliability with 74 consecutive successful launches. Although this performance has brought it many launching contracts, Ariane 5 faces competition from the American launcher, Space X. To remain competitive against Space X, the European Space Agency has launched the Ariane 6 programme with the objective of a first flight in 2020 at half the cost. This programme will boost the European aerospace industrial fabric in the coming years. The space sector is experiencing a real transformation of its technical and economic model. The issue for ALTEN: ALTEN is supporting this trend by drawing on 20 years of experience in the installation of satellites to introduce the idea of mass production rates/ approach, such as we find in other industrial environments. / 3

6 FOCUS ALTEN supports the digital transformation in aerospace industry ALTEN manages Digitalization in line with our global customer oriented strategy in order to give priority to applied innovation: digitalization with a real use case, preferably a short time to market, and a clear ROI that therefore generates value for our clients. As such, we remain pragmatic and consistent with our high value added service positioning. ALTEN FOLLOWS PRODUCT AND PROCESS DIGITALIZATION ALTEN, a major supplier of engineering services to AIRBUS, actively contributes to the digital transformation started by its client. ALTEN is indeed fully in line with the dual approach of Product digitalization and Digitalization of the AIRBUS company s processes. Integrated into aircraft, helicopters or defence systems, for example, digitalization contributes to differentiating AIRBUS on the market and to generating additional revenue, in particular through customer services (maintenance, fleet management, etc.). For the Product component: ALTEN s employees work on innovating and defining digital cockpits for AIRBUS aircraft. They also work on the «AIRBUS Airline» interface, which proposes Big Data services for predictive maintenance. For the digital transformation of AIRBUS company, it will bring operational benefits (produce faster, more accurately, cheaper, without defects, communicate in real time, etc.). For this process angle, ALTEN has become a major partner of the «AIRBUS digital transformation» thanks to its positioning as a multispecialist which works on the entire aircraft life cycle. It contributes to bringing together the various functions of AIRBUS and to placing constraints linked to the production plant or maintenance at the heart of the design office. For instance, ALTEN partnered with Dassault Systèmes for the 3D Experience approach at AIRBUS. We are also contributing to the standardisation of 3D printing. From video game creation to Virtual Reality applied to Industry The convergence of virtual reality gaming technology and engineering data means that engineering information is no longer locked inside computer screens, but can be experienced in immersive virtual reality. ALTEN DIGITAL VR LABORATORIES Through its digital VR laboratories, ALTEN is at the forefront of the integration of VR technology into engineering. The benefits from the increasing use of VR technologies are: Easier communication of technical concepts with non-technical stakeholders for review and approval Cost savings by reducing the need for physical simulations Designs that are easier and more efficient to use because of improved analysis of human machine interactions that are only possible in immersive environments Reduced lead times because concepts can be quickly updated. VR HEADSET The ALTEN engineers took their inspiration from the 3D gaming technology to develop a Virtual Reality headset, solution that supplements the AIRBUS cockpit simulator. This VR headset answer the need for a tool geared towards prototyping and the reduction of test costs. After the cockpit, our consultants are now seeking to export these Virtual Reality prototypes to other projects, thereby expanding the offering to clients in other sectors of activity, given that the applications are multiple: in aerospace, satellites, but also in the automotive and naval sectors. 4 /

Cabin configuration Create your own next generation cabin Configure your own setup of seats and move in your customized cabin. Cabin design is a highly integrated activity requiring inputs from a number of specialists in human factors, industrial design and engineering. By using VR technology, ALTEN teams can reduce the cost of cabin mock-ups and reduce the lead time for a new cabin concept. Engineers from different sites and timezones can collaborate in real-time on the cabin configuration. End-Customers can be directly involved in the configuration decisions and can see for themselves the impacts that their decisions have on the configuration. Cockpit evolution Take your place in the pilot s seat Witness the possible cockpit evolution from an actual cockpit towards a futurist cockpit in 2050 and experience the design from the pilot s point of view. The human-machine interface is critical to the design of a cockpit. By placing the pilot inside a virtual cockpit, the cockpit design teams can quickly confirm that the pilot has access to all of the information that he needs. VR environments can be linked to flight simulations to reduce costs by removing the need for physical mock-ups during early concept stages, and reduce the lead time for new cockpit concepts. Satellite deployment Take yourself to orbit Fly around a communication satellite while watching from space the deployment of a satellite, with its sensors and solar panels, flying. Simulations of satellite deployment allow engineers to experience events in orbit that they cannot normally witness. Customers can be shown easy-to-understanding representations of the workings of their satellite that increase their confidence in the successful functioning of the final solution. / 5

We are working in close collaboration with AIRBUS human factors teams to create a design that will be tested by AIRBUS test pilots. Safety is an overriding goal of consideration for improving the cockpit, but does not always trigger the changes, with the main area of consideration being to decrease the aircraft s operational cost. Involved on a 50:50 basis in programmes researching the cockpit of the future, looking at the period 2025 to 2030, ALTEN focuses on the cockpit as a whole, which includes the user experience, changes in regulations, pilot training, infrastructure, etc. The aim is to drastically improve safety and costs. Our commitment both to research and the programmes operated by AIRBUS generates benefits in both directions. Ramp-up process: successfully ramping up the production ALTEN enjoy a very strong positioning to control and improve the end-to-end processes of the supply chain, a key factor in reducing costs and non-compliances. Leading aircraft manufacturer in terms of orders for commercial aircraft, AIRBUS has entrusted a transnational ALTEN team with the management of industrial ramp-up issues for A330, A330neo and A350 aircraft. The strong ramp-up process of A350 As the A350 is currently subject to a strong ramp-up process, suppliers may have a hard time keeping up. Our role is to help them improve their production lines to prevent any impact on our sites, on several parameters at several levels: reducing the variability of assembly stations, optimising costs and performance, and reducing non-compliance. The ALTEN team is also responsible for derisking the ramp-up of new waves of production, sized for the future output. We determine which parts may be critical and test the capacity of suppliers and of our lines to produce them. The A330 example Following its desire to reduce the A330 cycle, AIRBUS entrusted ALTEN with the management of overcycle issues - a concept referring to all the hazards and disruptions occurring outside of the assembly cycle. 6 /

ALTEN is studying the trajectories and performance of the A6-next launcher in various configurations of stage return and analysing the main constraints for different missions and the impact on performance. ALTEN is designing a flight control simulator able to model the various types of stage returns in addition to the climb phase as part of the CALLISTO flight demonstration project meeting the need for training and control of the challenges inherent in the reuse of the launcher s stage. ALTEN was also responsible for developing software to adjust and analyse the laws of control, and for control simulation. The collaboration between ALTEN and CNES, first established some ten years ago, will continue for at least five years thanks to the master agreement signed in Satellite system OneWeb: to provide a worldwide Internet coverage OneWeb and AIRBUS DS chose ALTEN to support them with the electric & mechanical engineering and integration of the first satellites of the OneWeb fleet. This project entails having, as a minimum and on a continuous basis, 648 operational satellites to provide Internet coverage across the entire territory, including areas not currently served (so-called white areas). This satellite system also has other applications related to vehicle connectivity and, more generally, all connected objects. It constitutes what we now refer to as Web 3.0. The ALTEN engineers are preparing the AIT (Assembly Integration Test) phase of the satellites that consists in drafting procedures for the tests that operators will carry out in clean rooms. Our consultants also operate in clean rooms as a supervisory authority and offer support with trials. The major challenge in this project is the change in scale: we must design an integration model that will be compatible with the transition to mass production. This resource-heavy project should intensify HR requirements due to the increased output planned for the second half of 2017 and for Familiar with such powerful ramp-ups, ALTEN has already met these challenges in the past for other telecommunication satellite programmes with AIRBUS DS and for scientific microsatellites at CNES. From the aircraft carrier to the simple infantry soldier, fighter planes to armoured transport vehicles, all will be connected to the «battle field intranet» to benefit from the vision of the others. This will make it possible to shorten the loop between detection, decision and action, between weapon systems and principals, and to provide all persons responsible for a military action with information superiority. ALTEN is taking part in many innovative projects in this field with major defence industrial groups: experimentation of the use of new technologies for steering armoured vehicles, like touchscreen tablets and new generation cameras the HMI development of unmanned ground vehicles that can autonomously follow fighters and detect targets the HMI development of operator side vision of optronic masts for submarines the design of the embedded gyro-stabilised optronic ball for drones. The NARANG program: Rafale air-to-air refueling Zodiac Fuel & Inerting Systems is a leading player in the supply of complete fuel systems and refueling facilities in the air and on the ground. The entity has acquired world-renowned expertise in the areas of complete integrated fuel systems, inerting systems allowing compliance with the most recent requirements of the authorities regarding tank flammability, as well as refuelling systems on the ground and in the air, by «nacelle», a system allowing the transfer of aviation fuel from one Rafale fighter aircraft to another in flight. The NARANG programme strives to increase the reliability of the nacelle while improving its performance, in particular with respect to fuel throughput. ALTEN is responsible for the industrialisation and monitoring of equipment, i.e. checking the technical capability for in-house manufacturing (production and trial resources), designing assembly and testing tools, producing assembly procedures, and ensuring the reliability of the manufacturing process by overseeing the successful completion of each step. The challenge lies in complying with the system s delivery deadlines. The notion of budgetary restrictions is also key. The NARANG nacelle is a hi-tech product covering several areas: electricity, hydraulics, mechanics, etc. 8 /

The SCALAR program also designs a CanSat, a module, ejected from the rocket during its peak, that performs scientific measurements when it fall down with a parachute, in collaboration with the social open-mindedness organization of the OSE l ISAE school.
