2 2 Movie Review by Sarah Jones Star Wars: The Force Awakens Star Wars: The Force Awakens follows the journey of keeping the droid, BB8, away from the First Order, an empire similar to Darth Vadar s own empire. BB8 contains a map leading to Luke Sky Walker, the last Jedi. BB8 becomes separated from its master, who was taken to the First Order, but meets Rey, a lonely scavenger. The two soon meet Finn, a former Stormtrooper on the run, and Rey and Finn decide to take BB8 to Resistance. Rey and Finn are joined by Han Solo, Princess (now General) Leia, C3PO, R2D2, Chewbacca, and Darth Vadar look-alike, Kylo Ren. They all make choices that affect not only themselves, but the whole Galaxy. Three generations of Star Wars lovers all agreed that Star Wars: The Force Awakens lived up to everyone s expectations of how it should be and to the level of the original three Star Wars movies. The Force Awakens is a great move with an exciting storyline and fantastic cast. Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be, or already is, loved and watched as much as the Original Star Wars movies. ****************************************************************************** Author Spotlight by Hrishikesh Tupkar o Name: George Orwell (Eric Arthur Blair) o Bio: He was born in Bihar, India, while India was under British rule. George Orwell is Eric Arthur Blair s pen name. Orwell s alma mater is the Eton College in Berkshire, England. His works are mainly based on socialism, politics, and social injustice. He has also influenced the minds of many with his works on totalitarian and Children s Services Library Staff Interview Cyndee 1. Where are you from? I was born and raised in Miami, Florida. 2. What is a cool fact about yourself? I was named after my Dad s favorite dog. 3. What did you enjoy doing when you were a teen? Go to the beach, talk on the phone, and giggled a lot. Pretty much like I am now..and, I adored reading. 4. What did you do before you became a library associate? I was a preschool teacher for 19 years! Yikes! 5. Why do you enjoy libraries? I have loved to read since I was a little girl. My Mom said I always had my nose in a book. The library is safe and welcoming, and I feel at home there. It is peaceful. 6. What are your favorite books? King of the Wind, The Giving Tree, Christy, The Clan of the Cave Bear, Same Kind of Different as Me, and My Utmost for His Highest.

Another one of Orwell s famous and critically acclaimed works is the novel 1984, which criticizes certain political systems. 5 5 Evil Manatee Pug by Sydney, aka White Tiger Yay My friend has a pug that is mean, and his face looks like a manatee. Chico is my friend s pug. He is an evil, little demon dog. He fills children with the terror of him sitting on their face. There are many tales that parents tell their kids, Be quiet or Chico the evil manatee pug will fart on your face! The President had called on a press conference, saying that the rumor is fake and that there is no demon pug. The next day, 12 people died of suffocation. Coincidence? I TIHNK NOT!
