1 Good evening fellow readers. Wednesday, August 01, 2012 Well I am happy to report that I had another successful day at the beach. I also got to play basketball for the third morning in a row. My knees hurt a bit but it s worth the pain! I love basketball. So what do you think of our hero so far. I say hero because when I think of the courage it would take for someone to do what Auggie is doing I am surely amazed. I like Summer who Auggie meets in the cafeteria on page 52. I wish we all had a Summer to sit with at lunch. The cafeteria can be such a scary place sometimes, especially if you are looking for someone to welcome you to sit with them. I like the name game as well! Where like Beauty and the Beast.

2 His mom and Dad seem really nervous about the first day. The Hobbit is mentioned on p 59. It so happens that was the book I used to read to my kids when they were little. My kids names are Kathleen 26, Mike 30, and Ellen 32; they are not so little anymore. They loved the story but always wanted me to add to the story with our own ideas. It was an adventure every night. By page 62 it seems like the kids are getting use to Auggie s appearance. Still sounds hard though. Maybe I was wrong about Jack. He just has no filters. Page 64 I like Mr. Brown s October PRECEPT YOUR DEEDS ARE YOUR MONUMENTS. This precept means that we should be remembered for the things we do. The things we do are the most important things of all. This is much like the quote in our hallway - Character is what you do when no one is watching.
