Only the last 8 batches did not succeed but it was not for a timeout but because no record was there in the response. I believe records might have been deleted since the harvesting started. 5 I explained that we (BKG/Germany) were successful with external testings of our catalogue-service. We had no problem with performance and time-outs. On the other hand you showed me test results from JRC, which showed that you have some trouble by harvesting our catalogue. I promised to ask my colleagues for providing some documentation about our tests. They are informed and will soon get in touch with you. I hope that will support your efforts for improving the harvesting process. 6 Dear Mr.Lenk, Many thanks for coming back to me. Here are some details: In general, the service responds very well, with initial responses as low as 1.5 seconds throughout the whole operation. Sporadically, the initial response time peaks over 21 seconds and it is difficult to explain why. 7 We can increase the initial timeout which is now set to 15 seconds. When a request fails it is retried up to four times incrementing the timeout. 9 Dear Mr.Jackl, Many thanks for the test results. Unfortunately, they are not relevant for the issue under discussion because they refer to a timeframe that is quite limited: ;12:22: ;12:39:30 In general the service responds quite well, but performance issues arise during several hours of usage and seem to be linked to specific and temporary events, like maintenance. If tests last only a few minutes, it is unlikely that you will catch the problem. I suggest you keep running a light test (e.g. 1 parallel request for 50 records fired every minute) for one or two days so that you can have a feeling how response time changes during the day and night.
