Giver ( Giver Series) Jonas lives in a world that is perfect. Everything you do is carefully planned by the Community to make sure that human s faults would not be shown. When it is time for him to get his job, selected by the Community, he is to be trained by the Giver as the Receiver of Memories. Will he learn to bear the true pain and pleasure that comes with these memories? (MH) Lois Lowry. Son (Giver Series) What if someone tried to take away your memory of what you loved the most? Claire faces this in Son when her son is stolen from her. She lives in the community, a place of no feeling or memories. She is not supposed to love her baby; but she does. This book not only explains Claire s journey to find her son; but also ties up the series with characters from the first three books. (MB) Marie Lu. Legend ( Legend Series) After severe storms you would think America would hold on strong, but sadly they didn t. Now split into two countries, once again at a Civil War between the West and the East, the two sides must stand for that in which of two lesser evils they believe in. When Day Wing, who lives in the West, but does not support their way of life, is trying to destroy the West from the inside, their top agent, June Iparis, must stop him. However, June soon finds out her beloved Republic isn t all she thought they were. (GoodReads excerpt) Marissa Meyer. Cinder ( Lunar Chronicles series) Cinder is a natural mechanic, but as a cyborg with a mysterious past, she doesn t have much luck. How did they end up in someplace called Camp Half Blood after a freak storm hits and who is this Percy everyone keeps talking about? (SH) Veronica Roth. Divergent ( Divergent series) Five factions divide up Beatrice Prior s dystopian Chicago. Every 16 year old must devote their life to one faction unless they re divergent. Nicholas must find a way to awaken the twins powers, rescue Perenelle, and get the book back. (MB) Jerry Spinelli. Star Girl It all started at a school that nothing really big happened there. Everyone knew everyone. No one moved away and no one moved there. But that all changed when a girl named Susan, who called herself Stargirl, moved into town and shook things up. She changed everyone, especially a boy named Leo who ends up falling for her. When everything becomes confusing, will Leo stay with everything he has always known or choose the one he loves? (AS) J.R.R. Tolkein. The Fellowship of the Ring ( The Lord of the Rings trilogy) Follow the Fellowship through this first book in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. This story entails the quest of wizards, hobbits, and elves to band together to keep the Ring of Power from getting into the hands of the evil Sauron. Will they be able to survive the lure of the Ring s power and carry it to where it needs to be destroyed in time? (SH) J.R.R. Tolkein. The Hobbit The Hobbit is the prequel to The Lord of the Rings trilogy and many characters from the Lord of the Rings are first introduced in this story. Come be part of this adventure in the midst of these pages to experience the story that started it all. (CB) Sarah Weeks. So B. It Heidi It lives in Reno, Nevada with her mentally disabled mother and her neighbor, Bernadette. When she discovers several pictures in a drawer, she sets out on a trip to Liberty, New York.
