1 MIX CHANNELS WIRELESS RECEIVER ON 8 OUTPUTS TECHNICIAN MANUAL ENGLISH DESCRIPTION Mix 400 is a 48 channel universal wireless receiver, memorizable and free assignable on 8 open-collector outputs. The system is able to receive radio signals on the whole available bandwidth (from to ). Infact every device transmits at the same time on different frequencies to avoid radio collisions (overlapping of the signals transmitted contemporaneously from the various memorized devices). The radio circuit is realized with Quartz CHIPS that ensures an absolut time stability. The digital radio transmission method is used is FSK, and uses a rolling code algorithm on 112 bit with a proprietary encoding system, impossible to intercept and duplicate. Mix 400 is a completely configurable interface, is possible to assign any single input of any device to any output of the device. Is possible to organize the outputs in activation s groups, in this way the system is suitable also with control panels that haven t partitions. It s equipped with Radio Range Monitoring, Battery Status, Supervision and Radio Noise Monitoring systems. The table below lists the reports available. NOTE: When a notification is been activated (eg low battery) is possible to reset it by holding pressed the shortcut button of the event. See the SHORTCUT BUTTONS paragraph. 4 KEYPAD PROGRAMMING ENTER PROGRAMING AND MOVING IN THE MENUS Key the Installer Code ( default) and press ENTER ( ). Use UP and DOWN arrow keys to scroll the various menu. Press ENTER ( ) to edit the menu. Use the alphanumeric keypad to insert names and numbers. Use CANCEL ( ) to quit the menu, delete parameters or activate the assignation squares ( ). Hold for a moment the DELETE key to exit programming. LEARNING MENU With this menu, the installer has the ability to store all the devices available for this system, (sensors, contacts, remote controls, etc..) Storage occurs simply by sending a signal from the device while the receiver is listening. The receiver acknowledges the type of the device and stores the recognition s code; before access to the real programming menu you can see the number of available programmable devices. This number obviously depends on the quantity of devices already programmed on the system. In fig. you see the display that appears when you select the parameter of learning, in this case the memory is completely free, having all 48 available channels free. Pressing Enter ( ) on this screen, you can access the device programming and learning menu. LEARNING Free Positions : 48 AUTOMATIC LEARNING By selecting the AUTOMATIC mode, the display will show the current system situation. ( in the fig. below have already been selflearned 4 devices). When a new device transmits, by pressing the LEARN button, the system will store the device and place it into the list of the totals. In case the interface receives a signal from an already stored device, the system will notify this situation through written ALREADY PRESENT. Press Enter ( ) to exit this menu. Note: After the storing transmission, the receiver will automatically recognize the device (sensor, contact etc.). In the DEVICE menu you can view and configure the type of device. WAITING SIGNAL!! Tot. : 4 New : 0 DEVICES MENU In this menu you can view and program the whole situation of a programmed device. Is possible to view the status of inputs, the status of the tamper switch, the battery charge, the results on the calculation of supervision and more. Is also possible to program the parameters related to the inputs of the device. Press ENTER to access the menu; It displays the number of the device, type and serial number; Use up and down arrow keys to select the device; If the visualized position is empty, will appear NOT PRESENT ; Press ENTER to access the selected device menu. DEVICE AND DEVICE INPUTS NAMES Modify the name of the selected device. To change the name, after pressing ENTER to the name you wish to modify, use the alphanumerical keypad. To select Upper-cae and Lower-case letters please keep pressed the Up and Down Arrow Keys: Up Arrow=UPPER-CASE, Down Arrow= LOWER-CASE. 3

5 INPUTS STATUS CHECKING Real time viewing of the status of the selected device s inputs. On the right you see the real situation of the inputs: square = input open bullet = input closed On the left you see the situation of inputs in accordance with the associated options A = input alarmed N = input resting INPUT STATUS: [NAN - -] BOX STATUS CHECK Real time viewing of the status of the selected device s box. It describes the real situation on the box: BOX STATUS OPEN / BOX STATUS CLOSED BATTERY STATUS CHECK It shows the level of battery charge of the device. The transmission of that information varies from device to device. Detectors and contacts transmit the level of battery charge every time that the supervision signal is transmitted. The remote controls will transmit the battery level during each transmission. BATTERY LEVEL 100% SIGNAL LEVEL CHECK Real time viewing of the received radio signal quality based of the last device s transmissions. That value is relative to all device s inputs, including TAMPER switch, and LEARN jumper. This parameter is used to verify the quality of the received radio signal and to see if the place chosen for the installation may be acceptable. SIGNAL LEVEL EXCELLENT SUPERVISION SIGNAL CHECK Real time visualization of supervision signal reception (refer to Chapter CONCEPTS for clarifications). In this menu you can verify if the device has sent the last supervision signal. In case that the interface has received it, the display will show SUPERVISION OK. In addition, it will indicate the estimated time remaining for the arrival of the next supervision signal, and the calculated time between one supervision and the another of the selected device. If the device is not transmitting the supervision, the display will shoe SUPERVISION UNREACHED. NUMBER OF TRANSMISSIONS Visualization of the total number of radio transmissions made by the device throughout the arc of its life. This parameter can be useful, for example, when it considers excessive consumption of battery by a device. By comparing the number of transmissions. DELETE Definitive device deletion menu. Once entered the menu, the system waits the confirmation of the device. When the word Run? is displaied Press ENTER to proceed, DELETE to exit the menu. 4

6 LINK PGM TO IN Once all devices have been programmed, is possible to associate theoutputs at each input of the devices. This menu allows a very simple and intuitive association procedure: Once entered the LINK PGM TO IN menu, you ll see the complete list and the numerical order of all the inputs of every device, and the corresponding associated output. REED CONTACT 1 LINKED PGM 1 PROCEDURE: Type the installer code ( default) and press ENTER ( ). Use the arrow key down and select LINK PGM TO IN; Press ENTER ( ) and select with the arrow keys the desired input; Once chosed the input press ENTER ( ) to assign the desired output; Use the numeric keys to select the number of the output; Press CANCEL ( ) to exit the menu. NOISE MONITOR The system is able to display all radio signals (desired and unwanted) across the whole 433 MHz based band. This menu is used to monitor the signal level from any device. It is also essential to see if the place choosed for the installation as radio saturation. WHOLE BAND 100% TIME AND DATE The system has a time and date function. Is possible to edit them by selecting the time or the date. TIME CORRECTION If the clock is not precise you can make a correction to the percentage of accuracy by acting on the CORRECTION parameter. The central value of the correction is 100%, with this setting the clock speed is the system s original. If the clock goes fast is possible to reduce its speed eg. 98%, viceversa if it is slow is possible to increase its speed to eg. 102%. TECHNICAL CODE Is possible to change the technical code, the length must always be six figures. To change it, move to the parameter, press ENTER and insert the new code. SUPERVISION Each device programmed on the MIX400 transmits, at regular time intervals (adjustable directly on the devices), a life signal. If one of these signals is not received, for any reason, the system will notify missed supervision of that device. In case of necessity is also possible to exclude the LED s notification of this event by placing 0 in the dedicaded parameter of the NOTIFICATION menu (Default = 1). If transmissions of supervision are correctly received by the system for each device will be displaied SUPERVISION OK and the effective actual time interval. SUPERVISION 0=OFF 1=ON 1 5

7 SUPERVISION TIME CALCULATION Since the time interval between one supervision and the other can be different from device to device, the system must calculate the period. So, on a new device programmed will be displaied SUPERVISION IN PROGRESS. Such display remains until the system has received two life signals consecutively. Please note that when one device s input is exited the supervision s calculation will restart from the beginning. Then, to let the system complete the supervision s calculation of a device, you must don t send any signal for a time equal to twice supervision periods (15min or 3hours). In case of SUPERVISION UNREACHED from a device, the supervision caltulation will restart from zero. RADIO NOISE It s possible to enable the notification of radio interference. When enabled the system signals it in the events memory, on the FAULT1 output, and by the LEDs indicators. You can disable the signalling if the device is installed in an area particularly saturated radio broadcasts in order to avoid continues and unnecessary masking alarm signals. THE IN INPUT RADIO NOISE 0=OFF 1=ON 1 AUTOMATIC EXCLUSION You can automatically exclude all radio inputs remained open when the system which is connected to the interface is Armed. To do this, simply connect a OC Output (with System Status function) of the Control Panel to the interface s IN input. It is not necessary to have a precise polarity, the system will automatically recognize if it s a positive or a negative (Fig. C). SHORTCUT BUTTONS During normal functioning, you can view the most important informations about the interface and its components. To obtain this informations simply press the buttons during stand-by mode without entering into any programming editor: - INPUT STATUS = using Up/Down arrow keys you can see the sensors and/or contacts that remains open. - ALARM STATUS = by pressing DEL you can see any alarms occurred, obviously to see the alarms is necessary that at least a partition program must be activated, to scroll the information use the arrow keys. - SUPERVISION STATUS = pressing the # key you can view the status of supervision of the stored devices (sensors, contacts). To scroll through information use the arrow keys. - BATTERIES STATUS = pressing the * key you can view the status of the batteries, in case there are some low the system will display the number of the device. To scroll through information use the arrow keys. NOTE: to reset the event s notifications just hold pressed the button for few seconds. 6

8 DISPLAY DURING NORMAL OPERATION During normal operation, the system indicates the date and time on the top line and on the bottom line a real-time monitoring of device operation. The planned outputs are displayed as follows: - = output programmed at rest etc.. = outputs programmed in alarm blank space = output not programmed TUE 02/11 16: DEFAULT RESET To reset the device to manufacturer s default settings please keep pressed the ENTER key for few seconds while turning the power on. Our products/systems comply with the essential requirements of EEC directives. Installation must be carried out following the local installation norms by qualified personnel. It is recommended to test the operation of the alarm product/system at least once a month. despite frequent testing and due to, but not limited to, any or all of the following: tampering, electrical or communication disruption or improper use, it is possible for the product/system to fail to prevent burglary, robbery, fire or otherwise. A properly installed and maintained alarm system can only reduce the risk that this happens.
