2 COR(CORe) Software COR (CORe) corrosion software package is embedded software function in Smart Manager software COR software package is for Electrochemical DC corrosion measurement. 7 Terminology For Constant Control Constant control in COR OCP Potentiostat apply open circuit potential. One of previous step(s) must be Rest with type OCP selected. Standard Constant control Gstat Constant galvanostatic control. This means constant current control. Pstat Constant potentiostatic control. This means constant voltage control Id Constant galvanostatic control based on active area. Control Currrent = Id x active area Is Constant galvanostatic control based on weight. Control current = Is x weight

8 Terminology For Step Control Step control in CORe Gstat galvanostatic step control. This means current staircase control. Using this function constant capacity control is available. (Automatic current ranging available) Pstat potentiostatic step control. This means voltage staircase control. This control can be used for steady state control. Data sampling can be selected. Staircase sampling

9 Terminology For ZRA Control ZRA is zero resistance ammeter to measure galvanic corrosion. By using ZRA, System will measure current between two metal samples. Working1 :Green, Blue, AuxV1(+) Working2: Red, White Reference: AuxV1(-)

23 Corrosion Techniques Electrochemical Noise Potentiostatic ECN Galvanostatic ECN ZRA mode ECN The noise calculation comes with following formula. Software will measure offset potential and offset current and subtract these offset signal from block data measurement. Subtracted each block data set of current and potential variation versus time will be stored in memory: From this block data set, the noise of the block can be achieved by calculating the RMS of the residual AC signal:

24 Corrosion Techniques Other Techniques Ecorr vs. time This technique is to measure Eoc value with potentiostat t ostat off. Galvanic corrosion By using ZRA, the system will measure current between two metal samples. You should use Auxiliary voltage1 cable. Reactivation Potential Reactivation experiment will read open circuit potential before experiment and applies activation potential for activation time and applies passivation potential for passivation time. After passivation, it will sweep potential from anodic to cathodic with scan.
