SCHNOOR indoor coverage radio systems for the public safety digital radio network SYSTEM PRESENTATION

SCHNOOR indoor coverage radio systems for the BOS digital radio network All common standards for indoor coverage radio:, -A, and DMO An extremely space-saving and compact system The system is certified according to R&TTE and therefore approved for operation in the EU Installation by our own trained staff SCHNOOR Services: We support you in planning, installation, and maintenance SCHNOOR indoor coverage (inhouse) radio systems for digital radio in accordance with the TETRA standard are available in all common supply variants or combinations of these: (Trunked Mode Operation) repeater for connecting the property to the nationwide TETRA radio network including direct connection to the control centre. DMO (Direct Mode Operation) repeater as a costeffective solution for stand-alone operation without a network connection exclusively on the premises, no direct connection to the control centre is possible, radio equipment must be switched to DMO mode by the emergency services. -A (autonomous trunked mode) repeater in mode, but without connection to the national network. It is not necessary to switch the terminals, it works as an autonomous solution not relying on the national network and offers the full functionality. What is indoor coverage radio? Comprehensive radio coverage with digital the BOS public safety radio system is indispensable for the fire brigade, police and rescue services. The fire brigades in particular need this radio contact in critical applications in buildings and in structures such as tunnels or industrial plants. If the radio network does not extend far enough into a building, the local fire service may oblige the operator of the building to provide a radio system to extend coverage. The term indoor coverage radio has been coined for this type of radio coverage. 2

, -A and DMO ALL THE COMMON STANDARDS FOR INDOOR COVERAGE RADIO: Connection to the radio network Direct connection to the control centre available Requires the national TETRA network to be available Onsite command or vehicle need only a single radio Autonomous system without connection to the control centre Works without the national TETRA network Terminals do not need to be operated in DMO mode There are three call groups in the building Onsite command or vehicle need two radios: one to communicate on site, one to communicate with the control centre -A Autonomous system without connection to the control centre Works without the national TETRA network Terminals must be switched to DMO There is only one call group available Onsite command or vehicle need two radios: one DMO to communicate on site, one to communicate with the control centre DMO DMO DMO/ The local fire safety authority will determine which of these technologies is to be used on site. The following applies to all variants: The compact system technology of SCHNOOR s indoor coverage radio systems is the most space-saving solution on the market. It is housed in a robust enclosure together with a batterybuffered emergency power supply. Of course, installations, emergency power supply and other components such as a fire brigade control panel are installed in such a way that they comply with the guidelines of the local fire brigade. In most cases, a radiating high-frequency cable is used as an antenna system. This leaky feeder is routed through the building as a loop for redundant supply, and is supplemented with freely radiating antennas to ensure comprehensive coverage. This flame-retardant, halogen-free coaxial cable couples the electromagnetic waves into the building through openings in the outer conductor. In larger buildings, several systems are usually installed, which are then networked via an optical distribution system. 3

Our products ALWAYS THE RIGHT SOLUTION: TETRA DMO TETRA Repeater TTRK Channel selective mode protects network base station reception Supports up to eight channels simultaneously Uplink muting for trouble-free stand-by operation Up to 36 dbm of downlink performance Tested in many installations Network-independent operation in DMO mode Cost-effective solution for smaller premises without national network access Several systems can be operated in parallel Can be combined with all other Schnoor radio systems TETRA autonomous base station -A (TEBA) Automatic registration of public safety BOS terminals without configuration Use of the entire TETRA range of services Up to three independent call groups are available 4

SCHNOOR Services WE SUPPORT YOU IN PLANNING, INSTALLATION, AND MAINTENANCE Our engineers and technicians will support you throughout the entire project and carry out the appropriate planning and execution of the approval process on request: Coordination with the authorities: We work with the relevant authorities on a day-to-day basis and ensure that your construction project can be completed without delay. Planning: Any provision of indoor coverage radio can only be as good as its planning. For this reason, we first carry out a detailed, clear radio coverage measurement, which serves as the basis for planning. The planning of the units is customised by our own engineers, clearly documented and coordinated with the authorities. Installation: Once the planned solution has been approved, we ensure with our own staff that installation is carried out according to the highest quality requirements and the authorities specifications. Commissioning and acceptance: Together with the fire brigade and technical experts, the system is tested with an acceptance measurement to ensure proper installation and function. Only then is it put into operation. Maintenance and service: Our own SCHNOOR Services Team ensures the quality and availability of the indoor coverage radio system once the building has been completed. The condition of the radio and antenna systems is regularly measured and clearly documented. 6

Not just for the fire brigade, BUT ALSO FOR YOU! For operators of large buildings in particular, such as shopping centers, there are some interesting options to use the infrastructure of the indoor coverage radio system for other services: The antenna network with radiating coaxial cable is dimensioned in such a way that the entire building is securely covered without any compromises. An additional radio system, for instance for the new digital mobile radio (DMR), also makes an investment in an indoor coverage radio system suitable for other purposes, such as for building technicians or security staff, by simply connecting it to the cable network. The radio coverage ensures the accessibility of these people throughout the building right down to the underground car park and the last rooms in the basement, so ensuring gains in efficiency and safety. In many cases, such a solution can be easily included or even retrofitted. Most fire brigades explicitly allow this use. Contact us - the SCHNOOR Sales Team will be pleased to tell you which opportunities your indoor coverage radio system offers! Legal requirements Statuatory regulations, which may oblige the owners or users of a building or structure to install an indoor coverage radio system, can be found in the various local building regulations. These building regulations, for example, stipulate that specific requirements can be set out to ensure adequate fire protection in the context of planning permission procedures concerning special structures (sports stadiums and shopping centers, for instance). In this context, the measures that the owner or user may be obliged to implement could include the installation and regular maintenance of an indoor coverage radio system to ensure communication within the building. The planning and commissioning process is governed by a national authority (in Germany by the BDBOS, the Federal Agency for Public Safety Digital Radio). Whichever radio technology is to be used is, in turn, decided by a municipal guideline of the local fire brigade. At SCHNOOR, we know what we are doing: We guarantee to our customers the implementation of an indoor coverage radio system that meets the relevant legal requirements and guidelines in full. 7 3
