These repeaters use an interference cancellation function to cancel self-oscillation automatically using a DSP controlled algorithm comparing the donor and service antenna signals. 17 Fiber OPTIC Repeaters The Rosenberger Fiber Optic Repeater consists of a Master and Remote Unit. The Master unit directly couples the signal from the BTS, converting the signal for fiber optic transmission and transmits the signal to the Remote unit. The Remote unit converts the fiber optic signal back into RF and transmits it to the service area. These repeaters are mainly used in applications such as office buildings, metro areas, suburban communities, roadways, and scenic overlooks. 21 Digital Fiber Optic Repeaters The Rosenberger Digital fiber optic repeater integrates digital processing technology in a different manner than tradition fiber optic repeaters. An analog to digital module converts the RF into a digital signal. Digital processing then provides improved noise and filtering performance within the Master and Remote units before a digital to analog conversion back to the RF signal. Digital fiber optic repeaters are used in applications such as large office buildings, skyscrapers, shopping malls, sporting venues, convention centers, subways, and airports. 24 FREQUENCY SHIFT REPEATERS Rosenberger Frequency Shift Repeaters are a product that can quickly solve coverage issues in areas limited by the transmission source. Frequency shift repeaters consist of a Master unit and a Remote unit. The Master unit couples the signal from the BTS and shifts the frequency to an intermediate frequency for transmission to the Remote unit. The Remote unite receives the intermediate frequency and shifts it back to the original frequency. Frequency shift repeaters are mainly used in rural or urban areas that lack a transmission source.
