5 UAD - DATA ACQUISITION UNIT - designed to acquire, condition and convert different signals of the aircraft; - types of signals : - 7 potentiometer signals (0-10 V); - 3 frequency signals (7-77 Hz); - 3 syncro type signals; - 1 continuous voltage signal; - 14 YES/NO signals series or shunt type. - sampling rate: up to 10 samples/second, in compliance with the signal; - provides for supervision of exceeding limits of a set of parameters; - complete self-test during running. - number of samples/second: 72; - conversion rate : 8 bits; Page 5 of 12

6 PROTECTED IP - PROTECTE D RECORDER - receivers data from UAD on a serial line (RS 232); - stores flight data in the protected memory; - storing capacity: 512 Kb; - complete self-test during operation; - time to take over data: 3 minutes; - supplies + 5 V, - 5 V and + 15 V voltages to the on-board equipment of SAIMS; - protected memory block resists to shock, crush, fire, immersion in compliance with TSO C-51-A; - transmits data to EPPD on serial line, by 115,200 bps. 8 EPPD - PORTABLE DATA COPYING EQUIPMENT - designed to intercept flight data on ground; - provides for introduction of flight documentary data: date, aircraft no, pilot no, flight no; - provides for data up-take from 6 aircrafts and further data discharge in computer; - data discharge in computer: in serial line at a baud rate of 115,200 bps; - time to discharge : 3 minutes for each of the 6 recordings. 9 ESPD - GROUND DATA PROCESSING EQUIPMENT - components: - EIA - Intervention Equipment in case of emergency; - Programs Package to interpret data; - Cables, accessories. - Intervention equipment in case of emergency permits to extract data from the protected memories and transfer them in the computer in case of air crush; time to transfer data: 3 minutes. - Package of interpretation programs provides for data interpretation in table or graphic display.
