4 CABLE TEST VANS CABLE TEST VAN KAEL-3 Cable Test Van KAEL-3 is intended for the following work performance: tests of power cable lines with paper-oil insulation and operating voltage up to 20 kv; tests of power cable lines from XLPE with operating voltage up to 20 kv; fault locating in power cables with operating voltage up to 35 kv with the use of equipment and devices for preliminary and exact location. Cable Test Module KAEL-3 be mounted on any motor vehicle or trailer with the size of the luggage compartment 1700x3000x1500 mm. Also Cable Test Module KAEL-3 can be used as stationary test set. The design Cable Test Module KAEL-3 allows you to quickly install and remove the module from the vehicle. 11 MEASUREMENT EQUIPMENT ISKRA-4 HIGH VOLTAGE OSCILLOGRAPHIC REFLECTOMETER The high voltage oscillographic reflectometer Iskra-4 is designed for distance-finding to damage places of communication and power supply cables. The device allows: - to detect and to find the distance to the damage or discontinuity place by using the location (reflectometric) method for symmetrical and asymmetrical cables; - to measure the length of cables (including that in reels and coils) or the distance to the spot of rupture or short circuit; to save in memory, to store and to process the measurement results; - as a part of the mobile electric laboratory, to find distance to the damage in cables up to 16 km long by all kinds of damages without using complete insulation perburning. 13 CABLE FAULT LOCATION POISK-2016 GEOPHONE The Universal Receiver POISK-2016 is used together with ground microphone and Surge Generator (GAUV or other) for pin-pointing of cable faults. With in ground microphone incorporated velocity device, time difference between magnetic pulse and flashover noise can be measured and evaluated. The Poisk-2016 displays the distance to fault. This is particularly advantageous for cable faults which hardly can be located acoustically. In combination with Transmitter (GZCh-2500) and Search Coil the POISK-2016 is used for route tracing and depth evaluation of electric lines and cables. Sheath fault location can be performed using the available two earth probes according the potential method. Universal receiver Poisk-2016 performs the following functions: location of the poor sheath contact with the cable coupling; location of the cable track and searching the damage place by using the induction method; determination of the cable burial depth; location of the leak spot in the cross-linked polyethylene cable insulation or gas pipeline by using the potential fieldd method; location of the leak spot to ground in the conductor insulation of a low-voltage cable by using the potentialfield method.
