4 Crystal Group Engineering EMI Testing for RS132L24 Purpose This document has been created to provide an overview of the test results for the RS132L24 that Crystal Group completed engineering EMI testing on. Test Description The test sample was placed in the EMI Test chamber and the following tests were performed MIL STD 461 RE. Supplementary equipment necessary to operate and/or monitor the test sample (e.g., computer monitor, keyboard, mouse, test software) was placed outside the EMI test chamber and connected to the test sample according to test standard requirements. Refer to MIL STD 461F standards for test requirements. The limit lines are plotted on all data sheets. Modifications made during Testing As supplied, the test system met the radiated emissions limits. No modifications to the EUT were required to exhibit the emissions documented in this report. General Test Facility Information This section contains general information about the test facility. Specific information applicable to test requirements listed is contained in the appropriate section. Test Software All Radiated Emissions (RE) testing was performed using Teseq Compliance 5e software. Line Impedance Stabilization Networks The LISN s used conform to the requirements of MIL STD 461F. Test Chamber All testing was performed inside a 9 9 3/8 x 11 8 ½ x 7 6 walk in cooler and freezer enclosure. The enclosure is constructed of galvanized metal. All seams and openings inside the enclosure are covered with adhesive backed copper tape. The test chamber is not a certified EMC chamber. Carroll Coolers Inc. manufactured the room. Without wire penetrations, radiated ambient signals are visible inside the chamber. Peak points that exceed the limit line are shown in Figure 2 on page 6. Peak points were recorded during the ambient measurement for MIL STD 461F RE102. Local broadcasting stations have been identified as the source of the peak points in this frequency range. Please see the RF Ambient Interference Chart on page 8 for details. 4 of 22
