WRC-19 AI-1.12: Until Agenda Item CPM15-2 (2015-3, Geneva) ( , Geneva) WRC-15 Modification of ITU Radio Regulation WRC-19 (2019) Toward WRC-19, SG5 will develop related ITU-R recommendations/reports. APG15-4 (2015-2, Bangkok) Japan proposed a new agenda item on ITS spectrum harmonization. WP5A APG15-5 (2015-8, Seoul) SG5 (2015-7, Geneva) APT proposed a new agenda item on ITS spectrum harmonization. (2015-7, Bucharest) APG: APT Conference Preparatory Group for WRC APT: Asia-Pacific Telecommunity IEEE IEEE will contribute FCC and CEPT on coexisting study at 5.8/5.9 GHz band. Completed APT Common Proposal has been approved as WRC-19 Agenda Item 1.12! 12
13 3-3. WRC-19 AI-1.12: Consideration What do we need to consider toward WRC-19? Global or regional spectrum harmonization of ITS applications. Co-existence with ITS applications and Wi-Fi, for example. Spectrum requirements for automated driving systems. Note: If we need new dedicated ITS spectrum, it will take 5 to 10 years until approval by WRC. 13

WRC-19 AI-1.12: Resolution RESOLUTION COM6/13 (WRC-15) Intelligent Transport Systems applications The World Radiocommunication Conference (Geneva, 2015), resolves to invite the 2019 World Radiocommunication Conference taking into account the results of ITU Radiocommunication Sector (ITU-R) studies, to consider possible global or regional harmonized frequency bands for the implementation of evolving ITS under existing mobile-service allocations, invites the ITU Radiocommunication Sector to carry out studies on technical and operational aspects of evolving ITS implementation using existing mobile-service allocations, invites administrations * * * to contribute actively to the ITU-R studies on this issue. 19 Summary In ITU R, 5 Recommendations and 2 Reports on ITS applications have been published. In WRC 15, Agenda Item 1.18, GHz band has been allocated for 79 GHz band (76 81 GHz) short range high resolution radar including automotive applications. Toward WRC 19, Agenda Item 1.12 Spectrum for ITS application should be considered. Let s work together! 19
