1 The flexible radio solution Special Features Sensu<<S>>cout is a 868MHz bidirectional radio system flexible in topology and application. It was specially developed for meter reading. Availble option includes the readings to be collected via the GSM-Network. Also provides a comprehensive solution for mixed applications. Extensions or changes in the reading procedure can be easily realized Allows consumption meters to be read by radio using different methods. 2 System advantages Mobile meter reading: for single meters in difficult or inaccessible installations i.e. bulk water meters in a pit. The distance to the mobile reading terminal is line of sight 1 km normal conditions outside a building 100m to 200m hard conditions e.g. pit installation 20m to 100m GSM remote reading: Can be installed retrospectively. With that a GSM Gateway Sensu<<S>>coutGate is installed outside. The function is similar as for the data collector, but the gateway also provides a GSM access for up to 2000 meters. An extension of radio range up to 4 km in line of sight can be made with Repeaters Sensu<<S>>coutRep. The reading is made with the PSION WA pro hand held unit and Dokom Mobile (WinCE) software. The radio for bidirectional communication is installed inside the hand held unit. Dokom Mobile software provide facilities for Free read out Reading via a route Meter exchange The data is transferred to a PC via a docking station with USB connection. The data can be converted in other useful formats for evaluation or for processing in billing software. The data collector Sensu<<S>>coutNet is installed outside. The reading is made by the same method and the same accessories as for the mobile meter reading. 4 The Components Independence and reliability Newest technology and innovative energy management provides stand alone battery operation time of typically 12 years with weekly reading. Also in difficult environmental situations like pit installations the electronics is protected by its sealed IP68 housing. Sensu<<S>>cout modules demonstrate a long radio range, because the radio power used is 25mW. Therefore distances of 200m can typically be reached. The line of sight range is 1km. Interference free data transfer is achieved by using the European regulated radio band at 868MHz. With the first MiniBus Protocol all information for the radio start-up are transmitted. No configuration necessary. The meter data logging is based on the reliable HRI technology. That means No magnetic influence No bouncing of reed switches Detection and reading of reverse flow That s why the real meter index is provided by the radio transponder. Sensu<<S>>coutS compact radio transponder for Sentinel domestic water meters Sensu<<S>>coutMei compact radio transponder for Meistream bulk water meters The pulse output solution suitable for every meter with a pulse output The radio pulse transponder is available with 2 or 4 inputs. With this several meters can be integrated cost-effectively. Parameter for meter start index, meter identification number and pulse value can be set via the bidirectional radio protocol. Sufficient cable length is provided to allow the best position for the radio transmission to be found. For reliable use outside the electronics is protected by its sealed IP68 housing. Sensu<<S>>cout network components improve the radio distance range, because the used radio power is 500mW. This gives a range to the radio transponder modules of typically 200 m and 1 km in line of sight. The network components can be installed within a typical distance of up to 1 km from each other. The line of sight range of the 500mW radio partners is 4 km. Interference free data transfer is achieved by using the European regulated radio band at 868MHz. 5 Bridge for distances Here repeaters are used. They work as a relay station for signals received from the radio transponder modules and forward the data over longer distances. The data can be forwarded typically 1km. It collects the data from up to 100 meters within a range of typically 200 m. Therefore drive by and read of single meters is no longer necessary An extension of distance range can be made by usage of repeaters Sensu<<S>>coutRep. Sensu<<S>>coutNet Radio data collector for 100 meters Remote reading of a horizontal radio network A gateway will be installed outside and can be read via the GSM network.it is the data endpoint for repeaters within a range of typically 1km. The gateway needs a main power supply and it s protected IP66. These requirements can easily be met, because the installation location can be chosen flexibly. The distance to the next repeater is 1km typical and can be expanded by the use of several repeaters. One gateway can read up to 2000 meters. Reading errors or fraud attempts on the meter can be detected by the software s plausibility checks.
