2 PERATURAN PEPERIKSAAN KOLEJ MULTIMEDIA PENYELEWENGAN AKADEMIK 1. Pelajar tidak boleh melakukan mana-mana penyelewengan di bidang akademik seperti berikut atau sebarang arahan peperiksaan yang dikeluarkan oleh Ketua Pengawas Peperiksaan. HUKUMAN 1.1 Pelajar yang meniru hasil kerja orang lain atau tidak mengiktiraf kerja orang lain (plagiat) untuk tujuan tugasan atau ujian akan dikenakan tindakan tatatertib. 1.2 Pelajar juga tidak dibenarkan bersubahat dalam peniruan atau penipuan yang dinyatakan dalam para Pelajar perlu juga mematuhi peraturan lain mengenai penilaian yang dinyatakan secara lisan atau bertulis. 1. 3 ARAHAN INSTRUCTIONS : Jawab SEMUA soalan : Answer ALL questions 1. Terangkan apa yang di maksudkan dengan perkataan di bawah. Berikan satu contoh untuk setiap sistem komunikasi. Explain what is meant by the word below. Give one example of each communication system. (a) Komunikasi half duplex Half duplex communications (b) Komunikasi full duplex Full duplex communications [6 markah / marks] 2. Bezakan di antara DUA (2) jenis teknik pengagihan saluran iaitu tetap dan dinamik. Differentiate between TWO (2) types of channel assignments which are fixed and dynamic. [5 markah / marks] 3. Sekiranya Global System Mobile (GSM) normal mengandungi 6 bit trailing, 8.25 bit guard, 26 bit training dan dua pecahan trafik bagi 58 bit untuk data. Tentukan keberkesanan frame tersebut. If a normal Global System Mobile time slot consists of 6 trailing bits, 8.25 guard bits, 26 training bits, and 2 traffic bursts of 58 bits of data, determine a frame efficiency. ISR Page 3 of 9

4 4. Untuk menggunakan spektrum radio secara efisien, teknik reuse frekuensi yang konsisten dengan objektif untuk meningkatkan kapasiti dan meminimakan interference adalah di perlukan. Terangkan DUA (2) cara pengurusan channel supaya tercapai objektif ini. For efficient utilization of the radio spectrum, a frequency reuse scheme that is consistently with the objective of increasing capacity and minimizing interference is required. Describe TWO (2) methods of channel assignment in order to achieve these objectives. [5 markah / marks] 5. Sekiranya signal-to-noise ratio sebanyak 15 db diperlukan untuk memenuhi kesan forward channel, apakah frequency reuse factor dan saiz kluster yang perlu digunakan untuk memaksimakan kapasiti sekiranya path loss exponent ialah (a) n=4, (b) n=3. Anggapkan ada sebanyak 6 sel co-channel di lapisan pertama dan kesemuanya mempunyai jarak yang sama dari mobile. Gunakan anggapan yang perlu. If signal-to-noise ratio of 15 db is required for satisfactory forward channel performance if a cellular system, what is the frequency reuse factor and cluster size that should be used for maximum capacity if the path loss exponent is (a) n=4, (b) n=3? Give the THREE ( 3 ) reasons on why we need the requirements of new cellular standard? b) Berikan pendapat anda kenapa handoff sangat penting dalam sistem telefon sellular. 6 8. a) Sistem time division multiple access (TDMA) membahagikan spektrum radio kepada slot-slot masa, dan setiap slot hanya membenarkan seorang pengguna untuk samada menghantar atau menerima isyarat. Berikan DUA (2) sifat sistem TDMA. Time division multiple access (TDMA) system divide the radio spectrum into time slots, and in each slot only one user is allowed to either transmit or receive the signal. Give TWO (2) features of TDMA system. (b) Anggap sistem TDMA/TDD Global System for Mobile (GSM) menggunakan 25 MHz untuk forward link, di mana ia akan di bahagikan kepada beberapa 200 khz channel. Sekiranya 8 suara channel boleh dikendalikan oleh satu radio channel, dan sekiranya tiada guard band digunakan, cari bilangan pengguna yang boleh di kendalikan oleh GSM secara serentak. Consider Global System for Mobile (GSM) which is a TDMA/TDD system that uses 25 MHz for the forward link, which is broken into radio channels of 200 khz. If 8 speech channels are supported on a single radio channel, and if no guard band is assumed, find the number of simultaneous users that can be accommodated by GSM. 7 9. Satu kawasan bandar mempunyai populasi sebanyak 2 juta penduduk. Tiga pembekal system mobile (Digi, Celcom and Maxis) membekalkan servis selular di kawasan tersebut. Digi mempunyai 394 cell dengan 19 channel setiap satu, Celcom mempunyai 98 cell dengan 57 channel setiap satu, dan Maxis mempunyai 49 cell dengan 100 channel setiap satu. An urban area has a population of a 2 million residences. Three competing trunked mobile systems (Digi, Celcom and Maxis) provide cellular service in this area. Digi has 394 cells with 19 channels each, Celcom has 98 cells with 57 channels each, and Maxis has 49 cells,each with 100 channels. Carikan bilangan pengguna bagi setiap system dengan 2% blocking sekiranya untuk setiap pengguna dihadkan kepada 2 panggilan setiap sejam dan setiap panggilan dihadkan selama 3 minit. Find the number of users that can be supported at 2% blocking if each user averages 2 calls per hour at an average call duration of 3 minutes. Anggap bahawa setiap tiga sistem trunk beroperasi secara maksimum, kirakan peratusan kepadatan untuk setiap pembekal selular tersebut. Apakah yang dimaksudkan dengan system blocked calls cleared dan blocked calls delayed? Berikan DUA (2) elemen untuk setiap system. What is the meant of blocked calls cleared system and blocked calls delayed? Give TWO (2) elements for each system. 12. Satu servis selular memilih untuk menggunakan TDMA digital skema dimana ianya boleh menerima signal-to-interference-ratio lebih dari 12 db (SIR). Sekiranya 30 MHz jumlah spectrum di peruntukkan untuk system selular tanpa wayar duplex dan setiap channel mempunyai lebar jalur sebanyak 30 khz, cari If 30MHz of total spectrum is allocated for duplex wireless cellular system and each simplex channel has 30 khz bandwidth, find a) bilangan duplex channels The number of duplex channels b) Bilangan jumlah channels per cell site, sekiranya N=5 cell diguna pakai semula.
