2 FOREWORD SO (the nternational Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national Standards institutes (SO Member Bodies). The work of developing nternational Standards is carried out through SO Technical Committees. Every Member Body interested in a subject for which a Technical Committee has been set up has the right to be represented on that Committee. nternational organizations, governmental and non-governmental, in liaison with SO, also take part in the work. Draft nternational Standards adopted by the Technical Committees are circulated to the Member Bodies for approval before their acceptance as nternational Standards by the SO Council. Prior to 97, the results of the work of the Technical Committees were published as SO Recommendations; these documents are now in the process of being transformed into nternational Standards. As part of this process, Technical Committee SOTC 0 has reviewed SO Recommendation R 48 and found it technically suitable for transformation. nternational Standard SO 48 therefore replaces SO Recommendation R to which it is technically identical. 3 NTERNATONAL STANDARD SO (E) Aircraft - Precision fuse-links - Type A SCOPE AND FELD OF APPLCATON This nternational Standard specifies the dimensions and Performance requirements for a range of precision fuselinks suitable for use in aircraft electrical Systems having vol tage and frequency characteristics conforming to SOR, at any ambient temperature from - 6 to + 8 OC, and all altitudes from 0 to m. EC Publication 69, Lew-voltage fuses - Part : General requiremen ts. 4 GENERAL REQUREMENTS The fuse-links shall comply with the requirements of SO 47. DMENSONS The dimensions of the fuse-links shall comply with table for the ferrule type or table for the tag type. 6 CURRENT, VOLTAGE AND BREAKNG-CAPACTY RATNGS The current ratings, the voltage ratings and the breakingcapacity ratings of the fuse-links shall be in accordance with those listed in table. 7 TlMECURRENT CHARACTERSTCS The pre-arcing timecurrent characteristics of the fuse-links shall be within the appropriate envelope curves shown in the annex. TERMNOLOGY The terminology used in this nternational Standard is in conformity with EC Publication 69, as far as practicable. 8 TESTS The fuse-links shall be tested in accordance with SO 47. ) At present at the Stage of draft.
