It calibrates nowaday range zero every 30 minutes when energy cumulate and every10 minutes when others. It takes about 0.1 second every time. Line filter: cut-off frequency is 600Hz. After opening Line filter, input signal frequency range which can be ensured is 45-65Hz. The other frequency accuracy can not be ensured. Display update: DC: about 3 times/second. 5 b)70hz-130hz: test 1~50 orders harmonic, sample 8cycles each time. c)130hz-250hz: test 1~30 orders harmonic, sample 16 cycles each time. d)250hz-440hz: test 1~10 orders harmonic, sample 32 cycles each time. Note: It can not have harmonic analyse when frequency is without up range. Displaying 0 order harmonic is total harmonic. Remark 3: Display particular character meaning: A-LOW: Prompt nowaday current input signal is too small to test current frequency. U-LOW: Prompt nowaday voltage input signal is too small to test voltage frequency. -OL-: Prompt nowaday display data exceeds display range. U-OL: Prompt nowaday window test value is unknowable because input voltage exceeds range. A-OL: Prompt nowaday window test value is unknowable because input current exceeds range. UF-ERR: In harmonic state: prompt it can not have harmonic analyse because nowaday frequency of input voltage signal is out of range. Other state: prompt it can not test nowaday voltage frequency or frequency< 0.5Hz. AF-ERR: In harmonic state: prompt it can not have harmonic analyse because nowaday frequency of input current signal is out of range. Other state: prompt it can not test nowaday current frequency or frequency< 0.5Hz. UF-OL: Prompt frequency of nowaday voltage input signal exceeds 120 khz. AF-OL: Prompt frequency of nowaday voltage input signal exceeds 120 khz. ZERO: Prompt calibration zero. It calibrates nowaday range zero point every 10 minutes if meter is in a steady range. ----: Prompt to change range. It need wait circuit steady. ORXX: Display is at window A. Prompt nowaday harmonic orders are XX. 2. 6 3. Function key Range transition key: there are 6 keys to transit range of voltage and current. Automatic key: transit range automatically. It is effective when indicator light lightens. Repeating operation can relieve automatic transition. Increase key: increase range manually. Range indicator light moves right one bit when operates once. Decrease key: decrease range manually. Range indicator light moves right one bit when operates once. Note: 1. Current range is immutable when there is external shunt input. 2. In energy cumulate state, current and voltage range can be set but not be changed. 3. In harmonic state, range is alterable. 3.2 Test mode key: there are 4 test mode keys for different test need. It is effective when indicator light lightens. RMS virtual value: True Root Mean Square mode. Apply AC & DC. It is effective when indicator light lightens. DC direct current: DC mode. Apply DC. Use mean value. Switch: from DC to virtual value. If input signal is 0 or frequency is too low, the first display update period will be more than 3 seconds. For meter need judge if input signal frequency is less than 0.5 Hz. It is normal. Baud rate : display data includes test data multiplication by baud rate. Apply elementary data of instrument transformer. It is effective when indicator light lightens. Frequency filter : start lowpass filter (cut-off frequency is 600Hz). Only apply frequency signal of voltage and current. Line filter : start lowpass filter (cut-off frequency is 600Hz). Apply all signals except frequency signal of voltage and current. 3.3 Harmonic key: there are 2 keys. Apply fundamental phase setup of harmonic test function and enter / exit harmonic test state. Setup : build fundamental phase of harmonic analyse. In combination with system parameter key (Refer to Table 4 & Table 6). 6

Apply energy cumulate operation. Start : start energy cumulate. Start energy cumulate of nowaday test item. It is effective when indicator light lightens. Stop : stop energy cumulate. Stop energy cumulate of nowaday test item. It is effective when indicator light lightens. Setup : set time need of automatic stop energy cumulate. If the time is 0, it must make manual stop or energy cumulate to Wh. In combination with system parameter key (Refer to Table 5 & Table 6). Reset : clear all energy cumulate data. It can not transit range automatically in energy cumulate state. 3.5 Basic function key: there are 2 keys. Apply meter basic function operation. Print : the key function is invalid. Lock : lock communication data and display data. In system setup state, press the key can exit setup quickly and not save setup data. 7

8 3.6 System parameter key: there are 6 keys. Apply meter system basic parameter setup. Setup : enter parameter setup. After enter, window A displays SYSXX ; window B displays nowaday parameter; window C displays nowaday parameter value. Repeating operation to choose setup parameter. (Table 6) key: change decimal point place of setup value. key: circular right shift to change nowaday nixie tube (flicker point). < key: circular left shift left to change nowaday nixie tube (flicker point). key: increase flicker point value circularly. key: decrease flicker point value circularly. Inner internal shunt ---test current with internal shunt. Set current ratio I-AR ---access CT transformation ratio. Example: when use 200A/5A CT: 200/5= outer internal shunt ---test current with external shunt. (Note terminal) Set current ratio E-AR ---access CT transformation ratio. Example: when use 150A/75mV E-AR=150/75=

9 Please note connection length and screen when using shunt because voltage signal of shunt is too low and easy to be disturbed. Input signal of shunt can not exceed 75mV, or A-OVER indicator light lightens and current displays A-OL. Display update speed updat range is 1-6. It uses root mean square to virtual value U & I. It uses arithmetic mean to direct voltage, direct current and power. Example: Meter samples every 0.3 second (50Hz) to get a series of virtual value data. As follows: U0,U1,U2,U3,U4,U5,U6,U7,U8 Un, so the nth display value Meter samples every 0.3 second (50Hz) to get a series of direct voltage data. As follows: U0,U1,U2,U3,U4,U5,U6,U7,U8 Un, so the nth display value Reactive power and apparent power of the nth display are both educe value of nowaday voltage, current and power. If input signal flops strongly, you can decrease display speed value to make it steady. Setup example: set input code 1)Operate system parameter setup key to confirm that Window A displays SYS00, Window B displays code. 2)Operate <, > key to make Window C to leftmost flicker. 3)Operate key once to make flicker place display number 1. 4)Operate >, key once to make flicker place display number 2. 5)Operate repeatedly 2)3)4)to enter code Meter manufactory setup information 1)System parameter setup refers to default value. 2)Meter national configuration of communication serial port is RS232C. Expansion interface Note 1. Back panel includes power supply socket, connection terminal, communication serial port and expansion interface. 2. Power supply socket is for power input. The socket down must put fuse and specification is 250V Connection terminal is for connecting test loop. For different test ways, the meter external way of connection terminal are different. Ⅲ. Connection for DC & power frequency AC signal Note 1. The meter can test AC & DC signal. 2. Test signal must keep terminal consistency. 3. Current terminal and shun can not access meanwhile. 4. 11 Chapter 3 Serial port instruction Ⅰ. Serial port instruction 1. There are RS232 and RS485 two choice. Hardware interface of serial port is 9 needle D type socket. 2. Serial interface pin is identified as: RS232: 2---RXD 3---TXD 5---GND; RS485: 1---A 4---B. The word near interface indicates serial terminal type. RS232 or RS485 pane means effective serial terminal. 3. When connecting mainframe to meter with serial cable, turn off the power for meter and mainframe or it may destroy the meter. Ⅱ. Communication test procedure instruction 1. Read README.TXT file carefully to find right communication test procedure. (8730 file) 2. Copy 8730 file to target HD. Open the file and double click 8730.exe to enter communication procedure operation interface. 3. Choose computer communication port. Make sure communication address & baud rate are the same with product setup. 4. Click get to get test data. Ⅲ. Serial port communication failure check 1. Check if communication address & baud rate are the same with upper monitor setup; if different, change it. 2. Disconnect meter and upper monitor to test meter and upper monitor signal wire. For RS232 port: TXD to GND port voltage of meter and upper monitor should be -8V~-12V. For RS485 port: A to B port voltage of upper monitor should be +2V~+5V. If the up test signal is not normal, there is error of interface or hardware connection. 3. Serial interface communication can receive data but there are errors often. Please examine if the communication connection of meter and upper monitor is OK. Serial interface wire should use shielding conductor and connect shielding layer with ground. 11

Use note 1. The meter enclosure must earth well. 2. The analyzer should work in recommendatory environment. 3. The load power supply should be turned off when wiring load port. 4. Don t exceed the measurement limit. 5. The meter should electrify preheating 30 minutes. 6. Please avoid other disturb when using shun input current. 7. External shunt rated input 75 mv. Prohibit inputting crest value > 1V, or may destroy the meter. Ⅱ. Fault clearance 1. There is no display when turning on and power supply indicator light does not lighten. Check if power supply connects; voltage is normal; fuse is OK. 2. Test data has obvious deviation or power display negative value. Check if connection terminal is OK. Note voltage and current are in phase terminal. 12

13 3. Way to replace fuse Fuse is under power supply electrical outlet. Please put out plug when change. 2. Pry fuse outlet from power supply electrical outlet with screwdriver. 3. Put out the fuse from outlet when fuse shows. 4. Change new fuse and push fuse outlet back to power supply electrical outlet by hand. 13
