3 3444 CALIBRATION and ELECTRICAL INSPECTION PROCEDURE. C- PLATE VOLTAGE SWITCH POSITION The With plate voltage switch on position #11, short circuit the 17.8 ACV. overload lamps should glow. RECTIFIER TEST CALIBRATION switch se tup. Two jacks on top are used to connect a 5 Ma DC meter (such as Triplett 630-NA). '<l' '<l' '<l' t<) *C. 3. Pull value switch and adjust "Line Voltage" control for a 5 Ma on current meter. The 3444 meter should read 47.5 on 50 division scale, t.2'f,. 4. Turn D switch on 3444 to position #7, 3444 meter should read 5 division on 50 division scale, t.2%. The 5 Ma reading on current standard should not have changed. Remove leads. FILAMENT VOLTAGES switch se tup. I A B Element Switches C D Connect a 12 ACV me t er (Triplett 630-NA) between pin #1 of 7 pin miniature socket, and pin #2 of all other sockets (one at a time) and check for ti.3 ACV reading. 3. Place element switch #2 in "0" position, then turn element switch #3 to 2 position. Check for 6.3 ACV reading on pin #3 of all sockets, then repeat the process for element switches #4 through #9. Each time checking the pin # for which corresponding element switch is in t he #2 position. 4. With f i l ament voltage on 6.3 ACV place a #44 lamp in 7 pin lamp testing socket, to check f or correct operation. 5. Shor t cir cui t t he l amp testing socket for a moment, this should energize the input overload lamp. *E. LINE TEST VOLTAGE CALIBRATION switch setup. It B o Element Switches C 2 D 1 2. Connect t he 300 DCV plate voltage standard be t ween cathode and pl at e j acks. Connect t he 300 DCV screen standard between pin #3 and pin #6. ' Connect a d ecade resistance box as a substitute f or R-4. Connect the 6.3 ACV standard be tween pi n s #1 and #2.. J 3. Wi th 3444 connwcted to a 117 ACV line, adjust t he "Line Vo l t age" U control until t he pl a t e and screen standards read 250 DC volts. ~ (The line test switch mus t be depr e s s ed ) 4. The ACV standard should read 6.~.f ACV t.2%. H 5. Calibrate R-4 so 3444 me t er reads on "Line Test" mark. Electrical d Inspection tole is division of 11ne test mark. 6. Install R-4 resistor and recheck.

Ad just line te st on. Pull value switch and rotate D switch through positions all indicated voltages should remain the same. Release value switch and rotate D switch through pos i t i ons no r eadi ngs should appear on plate and screen voltme t ers. but the bias me t e r vol t age should remain. 3. Tur n D switch t o position #1. Reche ck the line test. Hold line t e s t switch depr e s sed. and rotate C- plate voltage switch. and check the voltages as per following c~rt. Tol. 13%f or all plate and screen vol tages except pl ate voltage posit i on #II which is l't~~.bias voltages are only approximate. Q) switch C. (calibration control) standard (using 50 V Dange) between cathode Push line test button and adjust R-29 to exactly 50 DCV on bias standard. Turn bias dial C.C. until D.C.V. bias standard reads 10V on 10V range. From the underside of 3444 panel, loosen abd rotate the 5K bias potentiometer, to align the 10 mark on bias dial with the screw head indicator on panel. (Recheck the above 10 and 50 DCV and tighten control) Rotate bias dial to zero, bias voltmeter should be zero. 7. Recheck line test and check pointa on bias dial, as per followin g chart. Tol. t2%. NOTE: All bias voltages are measured with line test switch depllessed. Turn bias dial to 10 position. Set D.C. bias standard on lv range. Adjust resistance of R- 33 for.95 volt reading on bias standard. 9.
