The Unial has a high definition OLED display that offers 15 contrast levels. The Unial is turned on with a single push of the ON/O button, which also functions as a back button when navigating the menus. Turning the knob scrolls though the displayed menu or selected settings. Pressing the knob selects the indicated menu item. The Unial is turned off by holding the ON/O button for 3 seconds. The menus are easy to understand and navigate. There are four connections on the top: power, configuration cable, positive and negative measurement/signal generation terminals. The protective case includes an integral stand to allow hands free operation. The Unial generates a voltage or a current signal. It will source a twowire transmitter while measuring the current or regulate current in a sourced loop (passive current). As a configurator the Unial performs all UPSetup software operations for the without the need of a computer. The Unial comes with 2 sets of test leads, a power supply/charger and a carrying case. Turn the Unial on by pressing the ON/O button momentarily, and the firmware version will be displayed briefly prior to the main menu. Main Menu Navigation is performed with the ON/O Button (push) and the /SELET Knob ( rotate and push to select) unctions These symbols are used in the flow charts to describe the action and button or knob to use. 5 Unial D alibrator, Multimeter and onfigurator Parameters INPUT The parameters have the following meaning: INPUT TYPE: selects the input type among the ones listed. Depending on the chosen type, then the user may set the other Input features. Available: olt, Ω, ma, Ni100, Pt100, Pt,500, Pt1000, T J, T K, T R, T S, T T, T B, T E, T N, POTEN (rheostat), KTY81, KTY84, NT MIN INPUT: sets the 0% of the range, according to the user needs. This value of the input corresponds to the 0% (MIN OUT) value of the analog output. MAX INPUT: sets the 100% value of the range, according to the user needs. This value of the input corresponds to the 100% (MAX OUT) value of the analog output. WIRES NR (number): may be selected only if the input type is a PT100, PT1000, NI100 RTD. It selects for the input between a 3 or 4wire connection. REJETION: sets the rejection programmable for 50 or 60 Hz mains frequency. AD. RESOL.: sets the conversion resolution (12, 14, 15 or 16 bits). 25 : may be edited only if the input type is NT (N type thermocouple). It allows to set the value of the NT resistance at 25. B PARAMETER: may be edited only if the input type is NT. It allows to set the B constant of the T N (25 and 50 ). The parameters have the following meaning: AULT Alarm: sets the action in case of alarm. By selecting Relay O (RELE O), the relay will be deenergized (off, and the yellow LED on the is off ) in a nontripped condition, energizing when tripped. Selecting Relay ON (RELE ON), the relay will be energized in a nontripped condition (the yellow LED on the is on) and deenergize when tripped. ON value: sets the set point or the trip level. O alue: sets the reset level. This level should be set below a high trip (TYPE ALAR = MAX) and above a low trip (TYPE ALAR = MIN). DELAY ON: sets the time (in seconds: ) after which the alarm's action is actually performed (if the alarm condition persists). DELAY O: sets the time (in seconds: ) after which the reset of the alarm is actually performed (if the restore condition persists). TYPE ALAR: MIN or MAX. MIN = relay changes state as the input drops below the ON level. MAX = relay changes state as the input rises above the ON level. MEM: sets the alarm as retentive or not retentive. RETENTIE = relay latches until power recycle when input is in an nontrip level. RESET = relay does not latch. The parameters have the following meaning: ROOT: if enabled, the square root extraction is activated (only for voltage or current input types). TYPE OUT: the type of output (voltage or current) is selected by setting the DIPswitch. With this field, you can select only the measurement unit which will be displayed: olt or ma. When sending the configuration to a module, make sure that the position of the DIPswitches (***) of the module agrees with the type of output selected for setting the other parameters. If for example we have a ma input and a ma output, by setting a maximum limit = 18 ma, the output will never rise above 18 ma and input levels 87.5% will produce the 18 ma output level. LAMP.MIN: sets the minimum limit for the output. If for example we have a ma input and a ma output, by setting a maximum limit = 6 ma, input levels from 4 to 6 ma produce an output equal to 6 ma. AULT OUT: sets the value of the output in case of fault, such as an input wire becoming an open circuit. ILTER: provides of the time constant of the numeric filter. The value (in seconds), indicates the time necessary to the analog output to reach the 63 % of the final value, when a step variation of the measured variable is applied to the input.
