2 The S-2100 system is comprised of an electronics rack and a separate sealed lamp housing. A controller mounted on the electronics rack provides all user control of pulse characteristics. Each of the two lamp housing selections, models LH-840 or LH-910, are enclosed, air-cooled and contain flashlamp, reflector and air filters. The electronics rack may be selected from three options based on desired pulse duration and energy range. Specifications for the electronics rack are shown in table 2. 3 Pulse Sequencing The S-2100 is designed to operate in four (4) distinct programmable pulse modes: SINGLE, DOUBLE, BURST or CONTINUOUS as shown in figure 1. All modes are set using the rack-mounted controller. Figure 1 Pulse flashing modes set by controller Lamp Housings designed for ease-of-integration into user process Two sealed lamp housings, models LH-840 and LH-910, are designed to provide a robust assembly containing flashlamp, reflector and filter in an air-cooled environment. Both lamp housings are available with 3 or 6-meter cables for remote installation of electronics rack. User must provide operator shielding from intense pulse light flash. Air-cooling is provided from a compact blower kit. Each lamp housing provides a unique exposure area and radiant energy profile, as shown in Table 3. Pulse energy based on voltage and pulse duration settings are shown in Figure 2 (page 6) and Figure 3 (page 7). 5 SPECIFICATIONS S-2100 Conveyor The S-2100 s optional conveyor enables the characterization of production processes. The system integrates the model LH-840 lamp housing, lamp housing blower and light shielding with a fully equipped power distribution cabinet and two emergency stop buttons. The serial controller allows for complete control of all S-2100 blower and conveyor functions through a laptop or optional touchscreen control. The Recipe Storage and Recall feature improves ease-of-use and process characterization. The conveyor is capable of operating at speeds from 4.3 to 26 ft./min. Specifications are shown in Table 4.
